What a GEM!
I’m in town for work and was craving Japanese food, so glad I found Nagame! The food is super authentic and incredibly fresh. I got the Tonkatsu and Tuna Sashimi, and both were absolutely delicious.
I found they’ve been serving the community for 41 Years, but sadly, they’re closing next month as the owners are retiring. I’ll definitely be stopping by again before I leave town.
If you haven’t tried this place yet, now’s the time. Don’t miss your chance to enjoy a truly special spot before they close!
Showed up 20 minutes before 6pm and was told by a rude server/hostess that me and a friend that we would have to wait after the 6pm party to be waited on. The restaurant looked really empty. The gal there had a very snotty attitude and didn't meet us at the door to just stay seated while being rude.
Awesome food!
Foods Great!!! Will be back .
the food was awful, Next time in in the area i will be eating somewhere way different.
Apparently to be seen within an hour, you have to make a reservation. Good way to turn away service.
I have loved this place for about forty years. The food is excellent! Mary and Kenya have created a warm and welcoming atmosphere that keeps me coming back whenever I’m in Merced.

Beef teriyaki was tough and the sauce was not very flavorful. We also ordered some dumplings as an appetizer and they tasted like they came from the freezer section of your local grocery store. We will not be returning and don't understand the need for a reservation at a place like this.

Bland food horrible with canned teriyaki sauce seemed like it was concentrated and not mixed with anything to make it taste better. Server was okay but it seems there’s 2 older women who run the place sitting from the bar making up nonsense rules makes for a bad atmosphere. Definitely won’t go again
Wheelchair accessibility: Definitely doesn’t have wheelchair accessible bathrooms

A hidden gem, literally! The food is delicious and the place is spotless clean. Love it! No sushi or ramen, but the teriyaki chicken will do. The green tea is very unique and a must try. We also really liked the green tea ice cream.
