Bland food horrible with canned teriyaki sauce seemed like it was concentrated and not mixed with anything to make it taste better. Server was okay but it seems there’s 2 older women who run the place sitting from the bar making up nonsense rules makes for a bad atmosphere. Definitely won’t go againWheelchair accessibility: Definitely doesn’t have wheelchair accessible bathrooms

We have been dining at Nagame for several years now. The first time we visited we were turned away because we did not have reservations. (When I visited London, we saw an empty Japanese restaurant, so we tried to get inside to eat but no, we needed reservations!) So, the next time we called, made reservations and there were no issues, and we were immediately seated. Have you ever noticed there are no lines of people outside waiting to get in? I love this. That's why they ask for reservations! Even though we live in Turlock, Nagame was the best Japanese restaurant locally. All their food is fresh and made to order. They have only 1 chef and so I believe that's why they ask for reservations. I seem to remember that there was only 1 waitress too. Too many people, waiting too long for food, is bad business for an eating establishment. Now the last three times were ate there, the lunch/dinners were average. Some of the food (cabbage)was not fresh; they have a younger chef so the food did not taste the same as we remembered. The tempura was off, a little greasy because too many items were deep fried at the same time. We gave them 3 chances and 3 times the food was average. Looks like we will be cooking our own Japanese food from now on.

Let me start out with a compliment. The food is amazing. I would love to eat there over and over and sample everything. But that won't happen because I will never go there again. The treatment that my guests and I received by the management was really awful. They have a strange reservation system, and if you have any changes, forget about it.

My friend and I frequent this place for lunch! We love their chicken teriyaki and sesame chicken. This place never disappoints!

Make a reservation! Food is always great but if you don't make a reservation you will either have to wait or not get seated. Food is fresh. Love to eat here!!

This place doesn't even deserve 1 star, the staff are unbelievably rude. I called ahead of time and was told we could come right in nothing extra, soon as my family gets there the lady tells us they don't except walk ins. There was maybe 3 tables full and the rest empty. The food isn't worth a reservation and the restaurant itself has a musty odor soon as you walk in the door. Hopefully the owner can teach his staff some manners, especially that old hag up front.

Food is always amazing,it's the customer service that's lacking,Everytime we would go in there the first thing they would ask and it's usually from the owner is do you have a reservation,Makes you feel kinda Iike a second class citizen it's not warm and inviting in there as well,We stopped going about a year ago, The food is great but so are alot of places and with great customer service to boot.

A hidden gem, literally! The food is delicious and the place is spotless clean. Love it! No sushi or ramen, but the teriyaki chicken will do. The green tea is very unique and a must try. We also really liked the green tea ice cream.

This place is a hidden gem of Merced. No sushi, but delicious Japanese food. I love the small dishes that come with the plates.Pictured are the sesame and teriyaki chicken lunch specials, an order of edamame, and some green tea. Excellent value!

The course's soup, cucumber salad & main meal is always a delight here. They are a family run business for years. Give it a try .... must call for reservations!!
