Here are just a few of the issues we experienced. But first I want to compliment the valet service. They were outstanding. The shining light in this. It was a pleasure to tip our valet handsomely. I reached out to the coordinators that were present at our daughters request to insure the wedding was correctly set and to friends who pitched in at the last minute because of the lack of attention from the hotel and event staff and learned about issues they handled . 1) Hotel reservations. The link provided did not work the majority of the time. I constantly took calls and had to call to make reservations. Half of the desk staff could make a reservation using the code provided. I would have to call back when someone else was present who knew how to correctly book the rooms people were told there was no discount for both days. There was always a lack of rooms and it took an act of God to get anything fixed. To top that off when we were checking in people were told that they didn’t have a reservation and that they just thought they’d made one. When the desk was shown the confirmation numbers showing there was a reservation for guest miraculously, they suddenly found them. The bride was included in this experience. An apology was never issued to any guest. Also, The bride and groom had treat bags that would be given to each guest at check-in. At least 10 guests were never given their bags. The staff did not hand them out. I was check-in and had to provide them to our guests who had already been through check-in. They graciously provided one for the hotels event coordinator. 2) The hotel kindly offered the use of a room off the courtyard for the bride and her friends to dress. There was no bathroom facilities or running water. In addition the curtains DID NOT CLOSE . Everyone would be visible with no privacy to change clothing. We couldn’t use it to wait for the ceremony to start because the curtains in the walkway also did not fully close. They made it very clear that the groom did not want to see the bride prior to her coming up the aisle. There was no staff present to help so we took it upon ourselves to find a room where the bride would not be seen. 3) The courtyard was not cleaned or properly set. The bride and I were there at 12:30 and had to move flower planters because there was no room to move between or around the chairs. I spent the rest of the day picking cactus spines out of my hands. The courtyard was filthy. There was broken glass, napkins, hair ties, brooms and buckets let out. Leaves and spiderwebs. The patio had probably never been hosed down. Her wedding gown looked as if it had been stepped on by dozens of people just walking up the aisle. The fountain had a lovely sound. The brides dad, her aunt and best friend were cleaning and setting up the area as the staff was going to do it at 2:00 for a 3:30 event. Pictures were scheduled in that area for 1:30. These never happened. I am attaching photos/video of them cleaning. They had to move all the barstools and align chairs so the aisle was centered. The hotel staff didn’t notice these details. Because of this people who were going to be apart of her getting ready were unable to take part. That cannot ever be fixed. 4) when booking the wedding your coordinator could not even provide a table set up for the reception. She gave the bride some link and told here to come up with an arrangement. It’s your venue there should be a couple of standard layouts that your client chooses from. 5) no contract, price lists etc despite numerous requests. 6) they had to almost beg to get a food tasting to chose the menu. 7) the Mainzer changed the chairs that were shown to them and they refused to use the ones that had been agreed upon. This caused the table layouts to be wrong because the new chairs were larger. The tables could not be set as directed. All of the linens and flatware were provided by the bride and groom. As a result of this there were now not enough table clothes. Her coordinators were able to use plain white on the upper tables. It also affected the ability of g
I stayed at El Cap, so I found myself in Native Son for breakfast, drinks after work, then drinks at night. Staff was great.
Such a bummer having to address this.
Walked in for breakfast with hubby there's only one other couple inside. The two girls at the counter don't say hi or offer menus. You can directly go up to the counter or have them approach you. They weren't hospitable at a simple Welcome or Hello. I grabbed the menu myself took a glance, & decided to go next to Rainbird, super helpful and attentive. Direct eye contact and offered coffee immediately with better breakfast options. Go to Rainbird! I’ve been there multiple times already, always the same hospitable approach. They're open for breakfast everyday Google has not adjusted the schedule.
This place is truly a unique fine in Merced. The location contemporary, beautiful and sophisticated. The plants are real lol, that’s a big plus. We were shocked that this place even existed in this part of California, but we will make sure to spend a weekend in the hotel and enjoy the restaurants in this neighborhood. Adriana was a sweetheart and was so happy to show us this corner Cafe. Thank you and we will be back
What a hidden gem.

Adriana was a delight this afternoon as my son and I enjoyed a bite to eat -
The Wind Down Wednesday offering of a selected glass of wine and a mini charcuterie plate was a perfect pair for my delicious tomato soup!
Adriana made us feel very welcome and I look forward to going back!
Such amazing service by Adriana✨
Me and my husband decided to go downtown to get out for my birthday and we ended up here to have a few drinks, we loved the drinks but the biggest thing was the atmosphere, I really enjoyed it, also the girl that hosted us and made our drinks Adriana R had the perfect balance of hospitality but also just let us be. Loved that! She was great at multitasking and taking care of everyone that came in. She appeared cool and calm while getting it all done.
Adriana was awesome! The drinks and cheese platter were delicious. Can’t wait to come back.
Adriana was awesome! So helpful and went above and beyond to get my order right. I will be back because of her and her great work ethic! Lovely place and great food

Shawn is the best. That bartender has more knowledge than the boomer generation.
Poor food, inattentive service and a tip demand at checkout. Crummy and irritating.

"Grab and Go" is not my style. Almost like a Starbucks, but without a lot of the food items.

My wife, our baby, and I have visited this place twice now, and we’re still not sure if they offer table service. We’ve noticed other customers having their orders brought to the table, while we’ve only experienced self-service. I don’t usually assume the worst about people, but this has happened to us twice. We won’t be coming back for a third time.
