West Coast Sourdough - Merced

We have been using West Coast for a few months for lunch and no regrets. Food/sandwiches are great and the salad is to die for. As a matter of fact if you’re getting catering salads from anywhere else, you’re getting ripped off. Just try one at West Coast and you will see what I mean.

My wife and I are handicapped. It is very difficult to get in and out of the car.
I ordered 2 bowls of clam chowder and 2 French dips, inch and a 8 inch to go.
The ones who handed me the bag told me 2 bowls and 2 sandwiches were in the bag.
I got home, the other end of town and discovered the 8 inch sandwich was not there. When I went back and complained, the girl said I should check it myself when I order.
This has happened before. The people don't care if they are not doing a good job.
I missed my lunch with my wife, the reason I ordered this lunch. $40.00

Stay away, find something else. I just went there on a Saturday afternoon at 2:30 pm. They were not busy, and they took 20 minutes to get me 1 sandwich. The worst thing is they did not care. I checked with them after 13 minutes and they told me the young man was making mine next. I stood there and watch the young man do a little, talk to the girls, do a little, and look around and talk to the girls. Then 5 minutes later he looked around for a bag to put it in, slowly walked over to and stood in front of me messing with the bag before I took it from him. After all of that it was not a good sandwich. It was a BBQ Brisket with so much BBQ sauce it just made a mess everywhere. All I could think was, I wish I had gone to Mountain Mike's next door. It would have been faster and better.

Terrible customer service, the food also takes way too long to make and would not revoke in a hurry, I’ve been here 5 times in the past year and i’ve always had issues with the wait time. Can literally see customers talking to each other in the back. Would recommend other alternatives.

Great food ,lot of choice of soups,hardworking and friendly staff.lot of choice on sandwiches as well. Neat and clean place to sit,relax and eat.salads available too.

Sandwich went crazy but it had some sus jalapeños. I still continued to eat the entire sandwich though so I can’t even hate. Also worth noting I went in about 20 minutes to closing.

I frequent this location and usually have a great experience with Jillian. Today Anya was working the front counter and we left feeling rushed, confused, and overcharged. We had to continuously repeat ourselves and it seemed like our simple sandwich orders were too much her understand, nonetheless the same orders we get every time.Also have to note whenever I order peperoncinis they always have the stems left on them which is really gross and disappointing especially when you’re paying $30 for two sandwiches.

New, clean, clever menus hide storage on the back wall. Typical sandwich places, variety of sandwiches, many bread, meat, trimming choices. Alas, in their enthusiasm to fill cups with dressing, etc, they overflow them so opening them can be a disaster. Then, there was a really, really strange, gooey cream colored substance attached to the glob of bacon bits in my cobb salad that had plenty of goodies, but scratchy lettuce. Salad/lettuce should crunch, not sog. Blah bleu cheese dressing, $9 for a small salad, ouch. Not sure I will be back.

I can't say enough about this Merced Store, I have had sandwiches and salads and all choices were delicious. Their salads are very fresh, no bag Lettuce here, and they give you some of their delicious sourdough bread with every salad. Thank you for coming to Merced.

The clam chowder was all potatoes only one clam on both orders. When they first opened it was good and had plenty. Not anymore!

My daughter had a pepperoni 6" and I had a peppered turkey 6". 7 minutes after eating she and I were both using the bathroom. 2 hours later as I pulled into my driveway I immediately vomited in my yard. Diarrhea and vomiting is all my daughter and I have been doing since 12:30p yesterday.

She still can't figure out what the brown stuff was that was on her bread. She didn't order Dijon mustard.

Customer service isn’t the best here, they laugh at your face just cause you ask for Togo boxes.
