Ambience, space, table and service were all quite lovely, and we could enjoy our conversation without screaming over the music, which is def. a draw!! Would rate food itself as solidly good, but not great. Both of us felt that way. One entree was duck breast, the other one lamb chop. Enjoyed the parsnips and veggies on my plate more than the duck. A hard sear to bring crunch to the duck skin would've helped... or something to build more flavor in the meat. Same for the lamb...
Lovely place but we had mentioned it was a birthday celebration to the waitress. She then said, “we'll give you a special dessert!” The NY steak was tasteless, tuna was bland, hamburger didn't have that delicious flavor it should have. After the meal, a staff person asked if we wanted dessert. We said okay, thinking a special desert was coming. Nope- I had to ask for a candle! Waitress had disappeared. Our out of town guests felt let down with the lack luster approach...
Above and beyond service. Special thank you to Charlie (the host) and Maya (our server). On top of excellent food and setting, what is truly special about the restaurant and experience is the friendly and hospitable staff.
