This is not a restaurant it’s takeout from a kitchen that makes food from many different companies.

Whoever created this place was a genius! It's pretty much a "food court"! When I first found it I was confused on how it worked but once you walked in everything is pretty straight forward. You order at a kiosk, picked whatever food you would like (from about 8 different restaurants). This place is a great place for date night, because if you can't choose what food you want you have plenty of options! My boyfriend got a burger, while I got a sushi burrito! Our food was delicious, 5/5 stars! They have utensils and all the condiments you may need. However, they do tell you it be a little bit of a wait while they prepare your food. I was so happy to see that they have one closer to my home so I can definitely can come back and try all the other options! Highly recommend this place for a date night or just even a place to grab a bite! :)

I tried Local Kitchens for the 1st time today. Everyone was friendly, and my food came out quickly, but the salad I ordered wasn't exciting at all. The veggies & greens (chopped cucumber and tomato) needed something more acidic and punchier than the parmesan dressing. The chicken on the salad was fine, albeit rather dry and bland. The batter on the chicken seemed unseasoned and begging for some salt, black pepper, garlic powder, spices or anything other than just being...fried? Would love to see some hot sauce packets included with the to-go condiments because this salad needed something to liven it up, badly! Would I try Local Kitchens again? Maybe, but I wonder if the rest of their fare might be just as under-seasoned as this meal. Not sure I wanna spend another $15-20 to find out.

Customer service is excellent! The app is easy to use. There's a great variety of food and beverage and something for everyone.

Worth a try if you have an eclectic group with eclectic palates. I had the wagyu patty melt and it was really good even carried out. And the marinated beets from the Israeli menu were maybe the best I've ever tasted. Others in the group had salad, and salmon, which they also liked. One hack: our order was ready WAY before they'd estimated it, and even though we planned for some cushion time, we were still only just on the way there when they texted that it was all ready. Not a huge issue for us, but I would probably be there about 15-20 minutes ahead of whenever they tell you your order will be ready, just in case. Overall though, I would go there again and absolutely get those beets again haha!

I originally left Local Kitchens a review on Google the first time I went. Things were good except for the tomato soup for The Melt. On my google review I mentioned they don't give a full cup of soup. I go back to Local Kitchens again for a melt and tomato soup... yet again they don't give a full cup of soup. This time I got half a cup of soup..Not sure why they like to skimp on the soup. They're always friendly and helpful but I always come back disappointed with a small amount of soup....

In theory I thought for certain we'd like Local Kitchens as a creative option for food delivery in Mill Valley. In practice it was pretty disappointing. The idea of multiple restaurants under one roof came to life during the the creativity and business realities of the pandemic, and in theory it's a great idea. Different dishes from different excellent spots all prepared under one roof, here called a "mini food hall." We downloaded their proprietary app and were off and running. But then when placing the order it looked like dinner delivery was still 2 hours away -what? That's unusually long. When it arrived, our dinner from Local Kitchens was cold and subpar.I've eaten at Oren's in the city, and the chicken and hummus plate here was a pale comparison. Each dish we ordered averaged $24 a plate, including our grilled cheese sandwich from Melt. Beyond value for the price, it took two hours from order to delivery (on a weekday) so not on par with a Caviar or Uber Eats. This is typically longer than I'm willing to wait.Local Kitchens didn't change the delivery game for us, or provide us with new options to add to our delivery repeats, unfortunately. I really wish that it had. One upside: late night food delivery and pick up is new to the area (up to 12 am.)

Ordered here for the first time today, and it won't be the last. Love the concept! There are 9 restaurants to choose from under one roof. We ordered ahead on the website for pick up. I was miffed that a $5 tip was added to my bill. Tips should be voluntary. We got Oren's Hummus and Proposition Chicken. The fried chicken was delicious! The hummus, Israeli salad & pita were terrific. The beef kebab could be more flavorful. The included sauces were spicy and hot, but didn't have enough flavor. Looking forward to trying some of the different restaurants on our next visit!

There's not a ton of late night options for food in Marin. Fortunately, not only is Local Kitchen is a fantastic late night option, but also kind of a fantastic option in general! To be clear, this place isn't exactly a place you go to sit down to eat-- though there's a handful of tables here, this place seems more optimized for take out (which suits me just fine). The variety of food options here could give the Cheesecake Factory a run for its money-- there's burgers, sushi-burritos, pasta, sandwiches, fried chicken, salads, really darn good ice cream, pizza, and even more. Think of it like a mall food court, only with better food and the benefit of not needing to walk through a mall to get to it.This is a place where you order entirely too much because everything sounds fantastic, head home, and then realize that everything is fantastic and that you ordered entirely too much (but that's not a problem because odds are you have a fridge)The food is cooked fresh to order-- I heard them drop the chicken wings and shrimp tempura in my order into the frier. The orders of pasta we had were made with fresh pasta (I've paid more for worse pasta at some nearby restaurants) and the sauce was rich and satisfying. For a meal made at 10:00 at night, absolutely nothing looked like it was microwaved and everything ended up being absolutely tasty.Their app makes it incredibly easy to order takeout as well. While not at the level of flying cars, I'd say this is definitely a sign that we're in the future (though, as an aside, this is the kind of dining experience I thought would become more popular in a post Covid word)I really can't recommend this Local Kitchen enough, I look forward to flinging a lot of money at them. (If they ever add pho or ramen here I'm never going to financially recover from this)

Local Kitchens in Mill Valley is now open in the Alto Shopping Center, next door to the UPS Store. The Alto Center is the shopping center with the Whole Foods Market and the Post Office. Local Kitchens @ Mill Valley is the first Local Kitchens in Marin County. It currently offers 8 menus. It's a variety of foods such as- burgers, sandwiches, sushi burritos, salads, fried chicken, pizza, pasta, ice cream and drinks. I have reviewed all the Local Kitchens in the SF Bay Area, and their menu can change at anytime. Local Kitchens @ Mill Valley is somewhat small. It has a small indoor dining area, some tables outside, and a restroom. Most orders are pickup or delivery. A status board on the wall can tell you if your food is ready. You can place orders using ordering stations in the lobby, the website, or the Local Kitchens App. When your food is ready, you simply ask the counter person and he/she will give you your order. Napkins, utensils, and sauces are available at the counter. To be clear, this is not a ghost kitchen. It's like a self-service micro food hall. There will be a person at the front counter for customer service. When I was there at around 530pm on a Sunday, there were two people cleaning and wiping down tables. The location is currently open until midnight. So, it's a good location. Lots of free parking, and it's pretty close to the freeway. The key thing to remember is....now you know there's restaurant that's open until 12-midnight, they will cook to order, and you pay electronically. So you can place an order, and go pick it up.

First off - I love this concept. Eight restaurants under one roof and you can mix and match so there's something for everyone. And they're open until midnight! I love Oren's Hummus and Sushirrito but don't want want to make the trek to SF - so it's great to have in Mill Valley. I hope they add Dumpling Time down the road. The online ordering was easy and prices are fair. You can see if your order is ready when you arrive on monitors at the entrance. It was bustling when I arrived. Probably 20 orders on the board. They were a little behind when I arrived (when ordering the wait was estimated to be 35 min but after I hit submit it was 55 min and my order was ready after 65 min) but it's understandable. It was their first Friday in business and it was peak dinner hour. The staff was friendly and working hard. The food was tasty and tasted just like if you were to go the restaurant in the city. Just two small issues. My fries were cold when I picked up my order. I suspect they were done earlier than the other items and sat a bit. And someone else's sandwich was in the bag with my order when I checked it in the parking lot. However - it was their 4th day in business so I give them some slack. I didn't complain but I did answer honestly when I filled out the satisfaction survey they emailed out that night. Within 20 minutes they wrote back and apologized and offered me a credit towards a future order. That's stellar customer service. We will definitely be back! Well done Local Kitchens team! Welcome to Mill Valley.
