I had 15 min to spare before heading to my daughters school and drove by this place like I have hundreds of times over the years. After scoring parking out front and looking through the pictures of their foods I felt the urge of having some chicken chow mein. There was only one person, waiting for his to-go order, but I wasn't fazed because it's already way past lunchtime. The staff looked surprised but quickly welcomed me in. At this point I was ready to eat so when my plate a few min later I started grubbing, totally fotgetting to take some pics ‍. I will say, this restaurant is called "Tasty Place" for a BIG reason. I've ordered from dozens of places in the area that were good, some even great, but the chow mein dish here stood out as to me was very delicious. Then I added some of their chili sauce (looks like they make it in-house which I believe I saw some bottled up for sale behind the desk), which elevated the flavors to a different level. The noodles were fresh and the chicken was cooked just right. Def going to add this place to our restaurant rotation!

I previously really liked Tasty Place but our most recent visit was disappointing. I really liked their cold sesame noodle dish, but they've since taken that off the menu. We got some dumplings, a soup noodle, and a bean paste noodle. The dumplings were fine, the soup noodle lacked flavor, and the bean paste noodle was also a bit clumpy and flavorless. Service was fine, but we were the only ones in the restaurant for our entire meal. They also didn't receive any take out orders either. Not sure if it was a slow night or if Tasty Place has fallen in popularity.

This Sichuan restaurant is a gem! The dry pot shredded cabbage is incredibly tasty, and the spicy hot pot with fresh fish slices is simply outstanding. The texture of the fresh fish fillets is so amazing. If you're a fan of Sichuan cuisine, this place is a must-try!

I thought this place was decent, maybe 3.5-4 stars or so. We had three dishes: -Dan Dan noodles was really good. Noodles were on the thicker side and I really really liked the sauce they had here. It actually paired really well with the wontons that were a little bland. The dish overall wasn't too spicy. I would definitely get this again. -Spicy wontons. I thought this one was a little bland. I had to add some soy sauce and extra chili oil and then it tasted decent. Then I also tried the dan dan noodles sauce with them and that elevated it a lot! -tender beef flaming pot was ok. I thought this was more like mala xiang guo but it was mostly just beef and onion with not much else. -rice was extra. Service was fine with plenty of water refills.

Wow the food is great. Such a surprise find. This restaurant is very close to another Sichuan restaurant and it's right next to a bbq restaurant so make sure you are going to the correct entrance.I recall coming to this place when I meant to go to the Sichuan restaurant so I left last time and I think it was a mistake to try this restaurant only after so many years. This restaurant is amazing. I don't know whether this changed owners but wow the food tastes so good. It's probably my favorite Chinese spicy food restaurant in the Peninsula now.The food portions are small but the prices reflect that and it's nice to see prices didn't go crazy for once.Even the way the ingredients are chopped can tell that the ones in the kitchen paid attention because the pieces are cut properly as opposed to other Chinese restaurants such as Wonderful (they should train the kitchen helper who to chop stuff there).Everything we ordered tastes great. I liked the frog dry pot. I also liked the spicy fish. The pork liver also is tender and flavorful. I really can't find any fault in terms of food here other than maybe presentation but who cares when they taste good. Even white rice tastes good and goes well with spicy food. The service is good and quick. The place is small but has decent number of tables. I don't recommend huge parties due to the space but I highly recommend this restaurant.

The Dragon Eggplant with Garlic Sauce is a visual masterpiece, not to mention utterly delicious with its unique presentation and mild flavor. It is of great significance to enjoy it at the year of the dragon!!And if you're into authentic spice, their Kong Pao Chicken hits the mark perfectly. With a perfect blend of heat and flavor, it's a must-try. However, it shouldn't have onions... Tasty Place is where creativity meets tradition, making every dish a delightful experience. For cool dishes, try their mixed of salad and fried fish is said to be among the best!

Best chinese restaurant around. Very underrated. Try the pork and napa cabbage, dip it in chili and soy sauce, the best.

Best authentic Chinese food I’ve had in San Francisco area. Affordable, great service, nice environment, and most importantly the food was delicious. Me and my family had a great time here! Would recommend if you like spicy Szechuan

A great find in the heart of Millbrae. Explore a range of authentic options and flavors. Ambiance qualifies as "hole in the wall" but don't let its appearance fool you! The food is delicious and worth a visit.

Their Beef Noodle Soup is a must try! With their tender beef and flavorful broth, this is easily the best spot for beef noodle soup in the area. Pair it with their soy milk and it tastes extra authentic. Service is always quick and they're the nicest ladies. Street parking is pretty convenient right outside the storefront!

Decided to come try out this spot since it’s seems to have so many good reviews but once arriving this was one of the most disgusting places I have ever eaten at. The Food we order was just terrible! The Green beans dipped in a pool of garlic, the noodles were not cooked well & chicken tasted completely frozen. Was very disappointed that I had pay near $50 for this terrible food. And to add insult the service here was also terrible! Waiter did not bring us any refills not once thru out the entire time but when I didn’t leave a tip SHE came running & chasing after us quickly to leave a Tip when in Fact everything in this place is terrible. After I told them of my disappointment & dissatisfaction SHE started Yelling & swearing in Chinese!! I would avoid this place at all cost for anyone reading this!!EDIT** responding to comment by owner**oh wow you guys have a recording (: okay cool than maybe watch & teach the person working there that tips are earned upon great service. Not chasing customers upon request or terrible service. Or Horrible FOOD. She yelled at me so maybe check that again (: & What surprises me is that you responded to this so I must be telling the truth. while not responding to other negative reviews on your page. You have a great day aswell. My review still stands AVOID this place.
