Gram offers unique souffle pancakes not commonly found in the bay area. The curiosity around the pillowy lightness of their appearance reeled us in to try. It was a warm day so we opted to try a box of their 'cool premium', which is a box of 5 chilled souffle pancakes. We went with the standard flavors: Vanilla, Matcha, Oreo, Ube, and Strawberry. Salted Egg Yolk was offered with a +$2 charge. Not sure what I was expecting but the texture of the souffle pancakes felt like eating spongecake. The pancakes are chilled, so the condensation made the cake a bit soggy. The texture may be better served fresh and warm. It was hard to choose a favorite flavor since they all tasted pretty standard. I may have enjoyed the vanilla / strawberry a tad bit more. I couldn't help but think that I would rather be eating Beard Papa's puffs with its crunchy texture than the souffle pancake's soggy spongy texture. It is possible that I will have to try their brunch / warm souffle offerings to get a more complete picture.

Came here a few weeks ago on vacation. I didn't know they had Gram locations in the US. The last time I went was in Japan back in 2016 so it's been a very long time. I was so excited that I was able to experience Gram again for their signature fluffy souffle pancakes! There's seriously no where else like this no matter how hard they try. The place was attached to a shabu shabu restaurant and there's about 6 tables. But absolutely no one was in the restaurant. It was an off time, but it gave a weird vibe. We ordered the salted egg yolk and pork floss souffle pancakes, plus the tiramisu pancakes. It took the usual about 30 minutes for them to come out. They didn't come out at the same time, but that gave us time to take pics and enjoy each. The salted egg yolk was creamy and like a creme anglaise sauce. So delicious!! I could drink it with a spoon. The pork floss was just a bit salty and a good touch for the sweet pancakes. The tiramisu pancakes were not souffle and tasted like it was made with wheat flour. A bit healthy, haha. But the marscapone cheese was amazing and balanced out the bitter dark chocolate. I mean bitter! Seemed like it was 90% dark chocolate. We ended up dipping the tiramisu pancakes in the leftover salted egg cream. Overall great treat!

came here a while back when they still weren't open for indoor seating so we got the togo pancakes! there are 5 in the box and shown are 3 of the flavors (matcha, pandan, and Oreo). pancakes here are so soft and fluffy, and the cream inside wasn't overbearingly sweet either! I'm a huge matcha fan and loved the matcha pancake def recommend:)

I had fluffy pancakes at the Gram Cafe in Tokyo and was eager to compare it to the American counterpart. Unfortunately it fell far short of my expectations. Gram Cafe is in a rather rundown plaza. At least there's a lot of parking. It's confusingly located in the same restaurant as a shabu place. The bathroom was extremely dirty and made me lose my appetite. Service was friendly but slow. I ordered the waygu beef curry which had a well flavored, thick gravy. Unfortunately the beef was way over cooked and chewy and the torched cheese on top gave the whole dish a smoky, burned flavor. The chocolate hazelnut and matcha creme brûlée fluffy pancakes looked pretty, but were on the dry side. I also got some mini pancakes filled with vanilla creme to take home and those pancakes were less dry, but the vanilla cream had a rather artificial flavor. Fluffy pancakes are delicious when done right, but almost everything here missed the mark in my opinion.

Decent pancakes. I love how the menu has a lot of items like cookies n cream and a strawberry soufflé pancakes. I like it. It didn't have the eggy taste, which I like.

The soufflé pancakes are so jiggly. I expected them to be airy and fluffy, but they were more dense and cake-like. Still delicious though. They were quite filling because of that. We ordered the hot strawberry pancake, which was my favorite because the sauce wasn't too sweet or overpowering, and the hot salted egg pancake. It was more savory than sweet. It took 30 minutes to make the hot pancakes, so we ordered the cold ube pancake (without coconut flakes) and a beef bowl while waiting. The ube pancake arrived right away and was good. It reminded me of Taiwanese red bean cakes. The beef bowl was mediocre tasting, but was a big portion size. I haven't tried other non-dessert items on the menu, but would recommend the pancakes if you're looking for a filling dessert.

Featuring their Creme Brulee Premium Two Stack, this soufflé style pancake brings the jiggly to the party. This style of pancakes makes everything so light, so you don't have to worry about feeling heavy afterwards! @phidingthefam

4.75 stars - plaza parking and Gram shares restaurant space with Shabu House Bb and I have dined here couple times so we tried a bunch of items: takoyaki (6 pieces) - bb enjoys and gets this everytime so I'd recommend haha it is a yummy appetizer to share salted egg yolk and pork floss fluffy pancake - typically I don't really like salted egg yolk but the flavors worked well here, a good balance of sweet and savory matcha creme brulee fluffy pancake - this was definitely creamy and thicker texture than the matcha fluffy pancakes but not a too big of a difference between the two, the creme brulee one might stand out more so I'll consider trying it in the future curry spaghetti - restaurant ran out of udon so I opt for spaghetti instead of rice, it was pretty standard waygu beef curry - this item surprised me.. in a good way! hamburger patty was delicious, juicy and flavorful. everything tasted great (guess that's what my spaghetti was missing lol...) and I highly recommend this item restaurant is too good for large groups, about 5 tables most with some seating at most 4 persons Can't wait to be back!

Can't believe I forgot to review this place. I've been here several times. I think the first time was during their opening week / soft opening. However, I never dinned in, usually got things to go. I finally stopped by with a few friends to dine in and try the food instead of just the desserts. Overall my experience was a 3.5 *** rounded up to four just because the food was tasty. I think Gram Cafe might be struggling to get hire more people...they seemed understaffed. We only saw two people that were doing everything! The Great Resignation & the pandemic might have a bit to do with this...just show some patience. Those two were doing the best they could. They got all our orders correct and brought everything out. Items I devoured: ~ Cool Premium TOGO Box - 5/5 ~ PREMIUM FLAVOR: SALTED EGG YOLK - 5/5 ~ CLASSIC PANCAKES - 5/5 ~ EGGS BENEDICT PANCAKES - 5/5 ~ WAGYU BEEF BURGER PANCAKE - 5/5 ~ HOT PREMIUM PANCAKES: CREME BRULEE - 5/5 ~ HOT PREMIUM PANCAKES: STRAWBERRY - 4/5 The fluffy Soufflé pancakes are amazing! I'd definitely come back!

Went on a Wednesday and there was only two other groups there. If you go on a weekday expect to wait some time for the food because I believe only one worker was handling both the Shabu side and the gram cafe side. Don't get the chicken karaage here its not crispy or aunthetic like other places that have karaage. Our chicken was also poorly heated as it was luke warm when we ate. The dalgona coffees were good!!! I just wish it was a slightly bigger size for $6 The soufflé pancakes were good and surprisingly done before the French toasts my friends ordered. I feel like this place could have the same or even more success as hanabusa cafe if they were their own place with more cute decor. I also felt like their pancakes tasted better than hanabusa cafe too! Overall pretty good soufflé pancakes if you are looking to try!

Ordered their creme brulee pancake + mango slush latte (?)! I actually really like the creme brulee pancake because of the texture is super fluffy! It's surprisingly not super sweet. The only catch to these pancakes is that it does take about 30 minutes to make when you order it. The mango latte was okay- it just tasted like a mango slushie with some milk in it. nothing special. The cafe itself is super cute with a little green grass background to take pictures of! The other side of the restaurant is hot pot would come back to try!

Finally decided to try a souffle pancake! The creme brulee "premium " is smaller than I imagined it. It's delicious, airy, fluffy & it melts in my mouth BUT it's not worth $18. I drove all the way from Brentwood to experience what the hype is all about lol

Good fluffy pancakes. They really expanded their savory food menu as well which tasted surprisingly good. I really liked their shrimp croquette. It's definitely a good alternative to hanabusa cafe because there's generally no wait and you don't have to book in advance. Their pancakes take some time to make though. Something to note is that the bathroom here is always really really dirty and when my friend tried to go months apart it seemed like they hadn't cleaned it in those few months? The stall that was out of order then is still out of order now and still smells really bad. So we never end up using the bathroom here.

We arrived at 20:15, server took our order. After half an hour, the server told us he forgot to punch in our order in the computer???? When he told us, it's at 9pm and said the kitchen is closed. Like seriously???? They wasted our time and made us wait for nothing. How can someone forgot to put in the order right after getting it??? I think they just don't want to prep the meal since the restaurant closes at 9pm. To compensate it, the server brought us two soufflé pancake on a togo container. I will never make business here! Bad service.

Got here right at opening & the place was filthy! Bathrooms were discussing, tables outside in the dining area not any better & the tables needed sanitizing. Imagine what the food prep area looks like....
