Friday night dinner:Service was bad. There was no wait time, we requested a booth for two. We were told to wait until there was a open booth for us. A group of four was behind us waiting. The host gave them our booth and seated us at a regular table. Picture shows open spots for us to be able to be moved at to a booth table.Husband and I were unhappy.Besides that Food is ok, not the hype that people go crazy for.

It’s super great deal for the combo options!! They offer an appetizer, a big portion of noodle, and a dessert for only about $20 !!!! I can’t find any other place has such a great deal!! And the foods here are very delicious!! Very fresh and tasty. I like the beef thin and with good taste, very gander and not too old to bite. The white wood ear soup is very soft and not too sweet! It’s the best I’ve ever have in the Bay Area!! And the service here is also very good. Highly recommend!

Ambiance: Casual, modern This restaurant is exactly my cup of tea. Huge fan of wide hand shaven noodles and dry pot Chinese cuisine so this place hit home for me. Great spicy flavor, but it is spicy. Had me sweating during the meal. The dry pot is exactly the same sauce as the hand shaven noodles but without noodles. Will definitely be back

The spicy plates I got didn't have any spice. The pork belly noodles I ordered had a sweet broth. Not the flavor I was expecting and was a strange combo with the pork. I added chilie oil but the oil didn't have much flavor or spice. This style of food is not for me. But maybe you will like it?

We started off with the seaweed garlic salad and the flavor was good but it was so insanely salty we exchanged it for a shredded potato dish, which, unfortunately, was also incredibly salty. It may have been an off day but I also found the beef noodle soup to be salty and the entire meal crazy oversalted. The best part of the meal were the pork and shrimp dumplings, those were killer. We also liked the stir fried beef noodles as well. This was a first and last time visit for me, unfortunately.

Wow wow! What a delicious feast this was! I'm elated to have experienced this noodle heaven. Every dish was well worth it. I also wish I had five stomachs so I could try everything off the menu! Next time ;)-FOOD-Highly recommend the LanZhou hand pull beef noodle (flat noodles are my go to; but you can select your preference from 5-6 noodle size types). If you go with the combo, you can choose a side (I tried the garlic seaweed salad, and the steamed egg with ground pork -- both solid), as well as a dessert cold soup (white fungus sweet soup or brewed rice in milk)Housemade Flour Jelly Noodle = Perfection. This was recommended by a friend who had tried many dishes here and this was her favorite. It certainly did not disappoint! The flavorful sauce (I would love the recipe) mixed with freshly shredded carrot & cucumber and tofu... I am still salivating over it.Fry Lamb Skewer = 2 very sizable skewers, either with spicy or non spicy options. The spicy powder was not overbearing at all! It was a mild taste but added that right amount of kick to the lamb meat. Cabbage with Dry Chili - a great savory vegetable side dish to accompany the carbs and meats-SERVICE AND AMBIANCE-Around 1 pm a bit past the lunch rush, the wait queue took about 30 minutes and there is an iPad inside for the waitlist process. Once seated, the ordering was smooth using the QR code and webpage, and food literally came out in record time (felt like 5 minutes)! The decor and interior seemed clean and new, and was overall a very pleasant happy experience :)*side note: I usually am very aware about how restaurants charge their tip total, as it should be a % of the subtotal and not total. I noticed that they automatically calibrated it as part of the total in the recommended % amount when paying. Just an observation.

Not going to lie, an Instagram reel of Highland Noodles was what brought me to the restaurant. Unlike the experience of the influencer, I was underwhelmed with mine. My friends and I arrived at Highland Noodles around 5:30pm on a Friday. The place was half full, so we were able to get seated right away. Glad that we came when we did because we saw several parties waiting around the foyer and outside the entrance doors by the time we left dinner around 7pm. Ordering food was made quick and easy. Scan the QR code on the table and order online. Multiple mobile devices can be used to add to your table's order. All the orders get tallied on to one receipt at the end. The restaurant had a modern looking interior for the kind of street food they offered. Hospitality wasn't the best, but I get that it's the kind of place that does the bare minimum. All our server did was bring out the food and close out our check. I tried a few items including the lamb skewers, spicy beef flat noodle soup, beef and cilantro, and beef pancake. Can't say that I enjoyed everything I ate. I was not a fan of the seasoning on the lamb skewers. The seasoning had a spicy mint flavor, which I found interesting, but I was not a fan of its pasty texture. The lamb meat was chewy like beef tongue. Best item I ate was the beef pancake. I ordered the non-spicy version, so it had a pleasant sweetness to it. The green onions were refreshing, and the outer wrap was crispy and flaky. The spicy beef flat noodle soup wasn't overwhelmingly spicy but I thought the seasoning was overbearing. This dish itself was such a sodium overload. I found that it didn't have that much beef, and the size of the meat was small. The hand pulled noodles tasted fine, but they were challenging to pick up with chopsticks due to the their thickness and weight. I noticed the table next to us had a pair of scissors. Did they bring their own or did they ask for it? Would've been nice if I had a pair to cut through my noodles. Would've been nice if my server asked if I needed one since I wouldn't have known to ask for one. The beef cilantro salad wasn't bad. It was the next best thing I ate. This dish was served cold like a salad.

Highland noodles has a beautiful interior and huge seating area. Although it was empty when we went, we only saw our server when he brought our dishes out to us. You order your food through the QR code and we didn't see anyone for a while after finishing our meal so we went up to the counter to pay. As long as this isn't a deterrent for you, you should definitely give this place a try!The pork belly knife cut soup (4/5) was pretty good! It was definitely a lighter broth and not heavy like traditional noodle soups. My favorite was the noodles itself. It was perfectly QQ and had a good bite. I felt silly asking and our server didn't say anything to us when giving us our food, but I didn't know if we were supposed to add the broth to our noodle bowl. I only questioned this since the noodles absorbed all the broth there was extremely quickly and there wasn't any soup broth to drink while eating. The pork belly itself was just ok so I'd probably try their new option of braised beef instead if I were to come back. The XLB dumplings (2/5) weren't my favorite. Ding tai fung has the best flavor and Bing's Dumpling has the best XLB if you're looking for a true soupy dumpling. The dumplings here weren't that flavorful, didn't have soup and the outer dough was way too thick. For the chocolate bun (2/5), I'm 99% sure we got the brown sugar buns instead. They had a weird spice in it and just tasted very sugary. There wasn't the slightest hint of chocolate. If you're looking for good handmade noodles, this is the place to go. I wouldn't recommend the sides we tried, but come for their noodles!

Tried out this place for early lunch and ordered their spicy beef noodles and a beef fried rice. The food was tasty and very large portions, great for family style sharing. It would be difficult for a single person to finish a single dish of this size themselves. Service was alright and food came out within 10 minutes of ordering via phone. Ambiance is nice and well-lit. Plenty of parking as it is located in a large plaza. There may be a waitlist if you come later in the day.
