We visited idly express about 3 times in our short one week trip to the Bay Area. The food was that good!! Pongal, idli, vada combo was delicious. Chutney was super fresh and even with Togo type meals, sambar was hot and yummy. For lunch, I tried their bisibele bath and curd rice combo, and was surprised by how tasty the bisibele bath was! Authentic like how you get in a restaurant in Bangalore.. gulab jamun was the perfect finish to this meal, it was served hot and very tasty. The highlight however was their filter coffee truly one of the best I’ve had here in the US. They offer it in light, medium, or strong. Highly recommend the coffee if you’re here! Parking was very easy to find especially at 8.30 am on weekdays.

I visit this restaurant because of the review, I thought food quality is good. Taste is good but I was wrong. I ordered 2 podi Idly and 1 -Vada , I am very unsatisfied with the food , there is no taste for Sambhar & chutney . Sorry you’re never going back again.

Stopped by for a quick bite for breakfast and got the Idli 2 Vada combo with sambar, coconut chutney, and tomato chutney. The idli was one of the best I’ve had at an Indian restaurant! Sambar and coconut chutney were also amazing, but the tomato chutney was too sweet.
They were super generous with the portions for chutneys and sambar. I also tried the vegan masala chai, it had good flavor but was pricey for the portion.
Service was quick and staff were really friendly. It’s takeout only. Parking is easy. Definitely plan to come back and try more of the menu.

The atmosphere was homely. It was perfectly located for us that morning as we were returning home from an event in Milpitas in the way to San Mateo. The sambar was great. But the chutney was watery and the sweet was well — too sweet :-) However those are not the reasons for the low rating. It was the mini idly with molagaapudi. The topping was smeared with fried oil. This is a tell tale sign of a low quality restaurant cutting the corner. Perhaps this demonstrates what happens when you scale to become too big. But for sure this has made me think twice about going back again. I have pictures of the two boxes of the idles we bought which had to be trashed entirely. We live too far to go complain. Hopefully this review helps move the quality needle.

Recently they had a nothing over 5$ special for Sunday 8am to 12 pm. We ordered 20 $ worth of tokens (4). Went to pick up the food, and found only stations outside where you needed to collect your food. We wanted take out, so when we asked them they said that’s 1$ extra, the. Told us to go to a dollar store to buy the takeout containers ourselves! We somehow managed to get like 6 small vadas (size used to be bigger) and 4 medium size idlis (used to be bigger). No sambar, only chutney to take out!
Felt like a SCAM, to be honest. Never going back again!
