This is easily always our first stop in San Jose. The Dal bhat power is super delicious, the pakoras, garlic soup, spicy honey fries, it’s all good. Hasn’t let me down yet.
Smells like an absolute toilet in there, I entered and didn’t even bother looking at the menu

Excellent place. Little expensive compared to the competition but the food is authentic. One of the best in town for authentic Napalese cuisine.
This is the 3rd time I've ordered from this restaurant while in the area on business. The Kheer Rice Pudding and the Rasmalai were both very good. I would definitely order from this restaurant in the future.

Amazing service with great food. I loved Kathmandu Cuisine because it is a family owned business and they really care about their customers. The server (most likely owner) was really kind and nice to us. He made us feel like home. While bay area has so many Nepalese cuisine, Kathmandu Cuisine stands out for its food, ambience, hospitality, live music and great atmosphere. Great work, sir. I will definitely be back…many times..again and again.

It says online they are open until 11:30 pm. We went at 7:30 and the doors are locked even though the sign says open and the hours on the door say it's open until 11:30 also. There were people inside and employees but they ignored us. Weird.
Bad experience.

Kathmandu Cuisine in Milpitas is a gem for those seeking authentic Nepalese flavors. The restaurant’s menu boasts a delightful variety of dishes, with the momos being a highlight—soft, juicy, and paired with tangy, flavorful sauces.
The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with simple yet elegant decor reflecting Himalayan culture. The staff are friendly, attentive, and eager to recommend dishes based on your preferences. Whether you're a fan of spicy curries or milder, savory dishes, Kathmandu Cuisine has something for everyone. It’s a perfect spot for family dinners or casual meals with friends. Highly recommended for those looking to explore Nepalese and Himalayan culinary delights in the Bay Area.

The food was good. Brought my friend who is from Nepal and haven’t had any good food in some time. He loved the food and on top of that there was live music. The singer was very good and playing Nepali, Hindi and English songs. You could even ask him to sing some. It was good food with good vibes.
Vegetarian options: They have vegetarian options for all the food. They food is well made.

The food was outstanding, and I had no issues in that regard. However, the wait time was unusually long—45 minutes for only two plates of momos and one order of sekuwa. Although we appreciated the quality, the delay was quite frustrating.
Edit:
This is a 3 year old review and the criticisms probably do not apply anymore so I will update to a full five star rating to be fair.
The good:
Food is tasty
The not so good:
Too much wait time, both times we went, it took longer than 60 mins to get all our food. Main course arrived before appetizers. Naan arrived after entrees already gone cold. One of our appetizers arrived long after we had finished main course. Need to stand in line for long times for small requests like extra silverware. The food was tasty but our experience was bad. Same thing happened on a previous occasion. Again, the food is great but the other aspects have turned me off from visiting again. Cannot sit waiting for 1 hour. Seems they are overwhelmed and cannot manage the orders.
