Great portion size. Only complaint is small sauce portion, but you can ask for more.

I had a great Hirekatsu Set.
Fully cooked but juicy at the core.
Comes with traditional sauce and a spicy sauce for a change.

Visited for lunch on Sunday, lines build up pretty fast around noon.
I’d suggest going a bit early.

Food was great. Tender katsu and the curry had good flavor. The set came with picked veggies and miso soup.

Worst katsu I’ve ever had.. I was influenced by tiktok for the bad. Curry taste super average. Pork was an extremely dry, flavorless. I had to ask salt so it actually had a taste.

This is a 3 star MAX food wise. Go to Japan every year for context. Ordered katsu tenderloin ($21). First, the curry taste and texture is similar to buying the curry cubes from supermarket and making your own. Not special or good at all. Second, katsu is cut to size of a 500 pound man’s finger. Not sure how anyone is supposed to enjoy this. Disappointed. Demiya is still much better.

I've been on the hunt for potsu in the bay and had to try out this new location in Milpitas. I ordered the oyster katsu thicker, pork tenderloin katsu and a side of the shrimp and vegetable katsu. I thought the shrimp was really good. The oysters were okay and the thicker cut fork was not my favorite because it was too thick. It was very moist but it was just too thick for my taste. For some reason I think the thicker cuts of tenderloin has lack of flavor versus the thinner cuts. Either by yourself. The kitchen is open and there is seating along the side of the restaurant and the bar. Over all the food was very good and service was good. Check out Katsu Gin.

Katsu Gin is renowned for its commitment to quality ingredients and the meticulous preparation of traditional Japanese fried cutlets.
This was my first visit, discovered while searching for Japanese Katsu/cutlet options, despite it not being close to my location. We arrived during lunchtime, and the restaurant was nearly full. Although the space isn't large, it offers ample seating, including bar-style seating, and features an open kitchen concept.

The menu is straightforward yet comprehensive, with a variety of katsu options, including shrimp and veggie, which are typically served as tempura or kakiage at Japanese restaurants. We ordered the Hire Katsu curry-pork tenderloin, veggie and shrimp katsu, and a side order of tonkatsu. You can choose curry , traditional katsu or Katsu Don.

The food was prepared quickly. The highlight was the Hire Katsu curry-pork tenderloin, with incredibly tender meat. The curry is yummy and not too overpowering. The veggie and shrimp katsu were also delicious, though I personally prefer them in tempura style. The tonkatsu (pork loin) was good but a bit dry.

Overall, it was an enjoyable lunch, and we left with some leftovers, as the portions were quite generous.

I've spent a significant portion of my life living in Japan and trust me when I say this place gets it right in every way. Perfect gayoza, basic house made curry, the rice, the tonkatsu, even oshinko that were crisp and delicious. If I live closer this would be a weekly stop without question. It's a little loud but it's not a bother as you will be distracted by the food and pleasant staff.

*Edit* got food poisoning. Pink pork probably wasn’t cooked properly.

Understaffed, or in any case unclear why it’s always so hard to get a waiter.

They got our order wrong - mixing elements of each between two orders.

If you’re familiar with authentic tonkatsu, I wouldn’t call this one authentic. It looks great and clearly has a lot of thought put into presentation, but the cooking itself falls short. The pork loin tonkatsu I ordered was overcooked and tough, almost like eating boiled chicken breast.

This place is a true katsu lovers. The frying crispy texture is absolute perfection. The staf; is welcoming and the individual tray service is very clean and well organized. Food was slightly on the side tear side for me but my group really enjoyed it

So ironically I had katsu curry earlier this day and some how ended up getting katsu curry here as well with a friend.

I will say it was great though, chicken katsu was good with their curry being average but fine.
Their takoyaki and fish katsu were both fantastic as well.

Pricing wise they are a tad more then the other spot I went too but the quantity is about right for the pricing. Would recommend for any katsu curry enjoyers.
