Food is amazing but service is something to be worked on. Gave me the wrong dish twice and one of the wrong dishes containing something I’m allergic to. Tried to call to get it sorted and all numbers are disconnected.

Nice and simple. Everything is just right. No need to tip. Wish the sukiyaki had more stuff in it, such as egg/yellow mushrooms. Order at cashier and they bring to table.

This is my first review ever but I had to share this terrible experience. Maybe that's why the other location closed permanently. Horrible service aside, the food was below average at best and tasted like it was purchased from the frozen food section around the corner at Ranch 99. The person working the cash register yelled at my wife in a manner that I don't even do in front of the whole restaurant over water cups. Empty sauce bottles. The water dispenser was filthy and looked like it has never been cleaned.
Wagyu beef curry is amazing!! We regularly make Japanese curry at home so it's hard to find one we love at a restaurant. Both times I've eaten here I've done take out so I cannot speak for the service at a table...but both times I felt a little slighted by the person checking my order to ensure it's mine.

This review is only for their chicken katsu curry.
For some reason their curry tasted odd, it tasted sweet and just straight up just curry with no extra stuff like potato, carrot, etc. it’s nothing like Kaz is San Mateo which imo has the best chicken katsu curry in the bay area.
I went to Kaz the next day just so I can double check if maybe maybe my taste is screwed up but no the Kaz version is way better.
The place is nice and spacious though so that’s a plus.

I've been here a few times now, and each time I have really enjoyed the food. I have tried each of the curry bowls, and all of them have been very good and hit the spot when I'm craving something hearty. The pickled carrots on top are a nice touch. Staff is very friendly and service is quick. My only note would be that the entrees are far better than the appetizers I have tried (Agadashi Tofu, Chicken & Sardine Karrage) , which have been just ok in terms of value and taste.
I visited this lovely restaurant with a really cozy and welcoming ambiance. The staff were amiable and made me feel right at home. For lunch, I decided to try their Japanese-style chicken wings and mixed tempura. The mixed tempura was absolutely delicious, with a perfect light and crispy texture, but I was a bit disappointed with the chicken wings as they didn't quite meet my expectations.
Interestingly, my friends ordered different dishes, and we had a great time sharing and tasting each other's meals. Our opinions about the food varied - some loved their choices, while others felt they were just okay. Overall, in my opinion, I would give the restaurant a 4 out of 5, primarily because of the delightful mixed tempura that left a lasting impression on my taste buds.
