It was my first time eating at this all you can eat restaurant. I loved it! You pick your vegetables, noodles and/or rice, sauces after you buy your protein and broth. Then you cook it yourself. Great experience with a helpful staff.

We as a family got hooked on Shabuya while in Waikiki, Oahu, Hawaii -- going 3 times (lunch, lunch, dinner) in the span of four days on our recent Christmas/New Year Hawaii trip.

So when the weather got a bit rainy and stormy back on our home turf in the San Jose (South Bay), we of course made it a point to go to Shabuya.
...
We find that Shabuya gives a premium AYCE hotpot experience at a good price. We keep coming back.
...
...And we keep coming back...

Same great menu, same great prices, it all feels the same. Round after round after unstoppable round of the Prime Flat Iron Steak. We left satiated, and vowing to return again soon.

Example: At places like Fogo de Chão, Mastro’s, and LB Steak, if you arrive first, you are still seated as long as you’re on the reservation or waitlist. Unfortunately, my experience here was different. I was not allowed to be seated because my companion hadn’t arrived yet, even though I informed them my companion was on the way. I ended up standing and waiting 15-25mins. I like this place and food.

The food and place were good, but the service was disappointing. I hope management improves this policy in the future.

Avoid coming here if you like good hot pot. You get fleeced with all you can eat pricing, especially because in the buffet area nothing in the seafood is included unless you want to pay extra dinner prices. Even quail eggs cost extra lol. Service is super slow, they don’t clear your dishes as you finish the meat (which comes as 4 tiny slices per tray). The buffet selection is super minimal, barely any different kinds of tofu or Asian vegetables. Also the vegetable broth distinctly has added sugar and the sesame sauce is sour...? Overall very disappointing.

All you can eat hot pot for $30 is a good deal, but they cut the meat thin like deli meat.

I had a really disappointing experience at Shabuya today. I explained that I needed to bring a small portion of French fries for my baby because it’s the only thing he will eat right now, and Shabuya doesn’t offer anything similar on the menu. Instead of trying to help or offer any understanding, the manager was extremely rude and just told me to “contact corporate,” without providing any real solution. As parents, we just wanted our baby to enjoy something he likes so we could enjoy our dinner. If we weren’t with my parents—who were excited for hot pot and had already waited almost an hour—we would have walked out. I understand restaurants have policies, but the way we were treated made us feel unwelcome and stressed. A little compassion and flexibility, especially for families with young children, would have made a huge difference. Very disappointed in the customer service here.

Definitely my first time here as I am from Oregon. Me and my son decided to experience something new. Took us out of our comfort zone, but to a good level. This place is considered buffet with allowed 90 minutes eating time for price.

They have poor service, and the people who work there are not professional. They need more training and how to talk to customers.
Im not going back to this restaurant

I can’t believe I spent my money and time there. The food is completely without flavor, the seafood was dirty and they not even asked why we were leaving after being there for 10 min. Definitely my worst experience.

Food is not good. Meat is soooooo thin. Other places are better. They also kicked us out after 1.5 hours even though it was empty inside
