Another tasty restaurant to try different items. We were not too hungry, just wanted noodles and an appetizer. Shanghai noodle and cold mushroom with tofu. The noodles had a nice texture and I liked the broth. My husband would have preferred some lime with it and probably order with vegetables. The tofu was cold as stated and it had fun textures with peanuts and mushrooms. Probably bring more people next time to have more variety.

A place for friends or coworkers to hang out for a meal. Pretty authentic. The price is pretty affordable.

Very good restaurant, fresh ingredients instead of pre-cooked food so it takes longer but totally worth it. I’ll come here more. The xiao long bao is not so good, not very juicy, but still okay. All other dishes are pretty good.

First time having Shanghainese food, grew up with Cantonese style. Came for dinner on a Friday evening, no problem getting seated in the smallish dining area. We're visiting with friends who are familiar with the restaurant so they ordered 6 dishes. Sorry I didn't take pics or remember names. Overall service was fast, food pretty tasty with good-sized portions, prices pretty typical. They did a steady take-out business while we were there. It's a little run down and older so the clientele included older people, a few young families, a few tables of young people. Other nearby restaurants with modern decor, music, mood lighting, etc were crowded with young, well-dressed, more affluent-looking Asians, so I felt like this restaurant is a no frills place to go for authentic (so they tell me) Shanghainese food.

Delighted to found this place serving delicious, solid Chinese food. We ordered take out and every dish was well made. Finally found my go to place for sweet n sour ribs.

I gave two stars because this place USED to be really good and we visited often. I went back after almost a year (previous visit Aug 2022) because we moved to Livermore. Drove almost 45 minutes one-way to pick up. Ordered 4 items - 1 soup, 1 green beans, 1 ribs, 1 veg. Total $86 w/o tip:1) Every single item went up by $4-$5 dollars2) Oils used are not fresh. Ordered green beans and it was soggy and oil was stale3) They gave me the wrong dish. When I saw it after driving an hr and half, it was a disappointment. I called to inform them, but instead of apologizing, I was told I ORDERED THE WRONG THING. We'd been there many times when we lived close by, so I know what I ordered.I suspect the ownership has changed because I only saw new faces. I will not be going back again.

very solid spot for some delicious shanghainese food! came here on a weekday lunch with a large group of coworkers and the staff was very easy and willing to accommodate us with no notice. dishes came out fast, and all were tasty, with a few major standouts—the fish filet, fried tofu, and the lions head meatballs were some of my favorites. would definitely come here again to satisfy my nostalgic chinese food cravings :).

Ordered a few items but the Braised Pork with Preserved Vegetables was not good. The pork had the texture of cardboard or tree bark and the preserved veggies had bark like texture so they did not cut the tough parts from the veggies when they made it. I would not recommend that dish.

Braised pork with preserved vege is such a disappointment. The pork is like dry timber. The preserved vege is overcooked, or not fresh. $20 go down the drain. I would give a zero star if it is an option.
