SBP is closed!!! However a replacement is coming. Daeho Kalbijjim and Beef Soup from SF is replacing it and it has rave reviews.

Love this place unfortunately it's out of business. Hasn't been open for weeks now. Definitely going to miss it. Don't come. It's closed.

This was the second time we came here but the first time we got the Galbi Jjim, we added the cheese and it was AWESOME. The soups they have were also great but for sure you have to try the Galbi Jjim at least once. The broth soup is light but flavorful -- ideal if you're not too hungry. But if you're feeling hungry and have at least 2-3 you need to get the Galbi Jjim. The meat was super tender and flavorful, the sauce goes great with the rice. It also comes with the steamed egg -- it was just the two of us but we had enough leftovers for the next two meals. I feel if I come here during the winter I would order the soups but in the Summer I'd definitely gather a group of friends to try Jjim -- we did not get the rib + ox tail and we got the spicy one -- which is not too hot but has a sweetness to it. Definitely need to try you would not be disappointed!

There are those days where I just MUST have seollongtang and Soup by Parks is the local remedy. The banchan are not the best, using both other seollongtang and Korean lunch places as reference. Somehow there's less of a food taste and more of a soapy taste..... Moving onto the entrees, the quality is consistent and never fails. The soup is so rich, and even with just a little bit of seasoning, recharges me! The only rough part that keeps me from coming here for often is the slightly hefty price tag, especially if we order the enormous short rib bowl for sharing. That will make the 3.5 round down to the 3.

Not a 3, but a 2.5. My friends and I came here on a weekday and it was fairly busy yet there were only two servers. One thing I explicitly remember is that we did not get water until after we order and waited for our food (we had to ask for water). The soup itself was rich, but very very bland. I honestly did not know what to expect because I have only ever had tofu soup and variations of it, so this was surprising to me. My friend and I got the ox tail soup and my other friend got the beef brisket (?) soup. My friend who got the beef brisket enjoyed her soup but had to put in a looooot of the salt and pepper they provided. The ox tail soup was alright, my expectations weren't that high but I was disappointed regardless. All of us put a lot of the salt and pepper in our soups because it was way too bland for our liking. I also resorted to putting in the marinated jalapenos and onions in order to add some additional flavor. The banchan was good! Honestly, the only thing I really enjoyed. We also ordered a side of bulgogi which was good too but I feel as though it's the same at almost every Korean restaurant. The service disappointed me the most. I think they try to keep their restaurant more authentic by having Korean ladies as servers, but they really should hire more people (if they haven't already) to help out. The table next to us didn't get to order until 20 minutes after they sat down. Our server got our order wrong, but thank god we corrected her before the soups came out. Like I said before, we had to ask for our water since it was not immediately served to us. We also had to ask for utensils since there weren't any on our table. At least they were nice? Overall, food gets a 3/5 and service gets a 1.5/5. I wouldn't come back again to be honest since I'm more of a tofu soup kind of person, but to each their own!

This place is slightly worse than Kunjip, but doesn't have even close to the wait.

Yummy food. Banchan is little too salty. Quick and nice service, but no services for my little kid, except providing a high chair for us. Cleanliness is very good.

So I've read all the reviews and I find that the negative comments have no clue what this place is about. I've traveled to Korea and went through Soul tasting all different types of soups and cuisines. As a personal chef to a Korean family I have brought back numerous recipes and falvors that are prominent in Korea. This place was an accidental find which was fantastic. From the side dishes to main dish it was perfect. There are people who know Korean food and then there are those who think they know. This is as authentic and flavorful as any Korean restaurants in Korea.
