I'm very glad I found this place, I use to come here all the time in middle school. They have the best calamari rings and popcorn chicken, the other tapioca Ex at McKee Rd in San Jose doesn't taste as good as this tapioca Ex. I love the jasmine green milk tea, regular milk tea, and Thai. It's very delicious, it's hard to believe that they're permanently closing it. Thank you Tapioca Express for giving me moments of savory and gratitude while I had my hard days in school and just in general to escape for a moment.

Best Taiwanese style popcorn chicken in California, dare I say in the states… Other places don’t even come close. Been coming here since 2005. I will cry when this place decides to close.Edit: Tapioca Express Milpitas has closed on 1/7/24 and I’m devastated. Thank you for all the memories. There will never be a place like this one again.

As of 1/7/24, this location has permanently closed after selling out the rest of their inventory. Do not visit this location anymore. That statement is for those who may be out of town or just looking for another boba spot to try out. For the many locals in Milpitas, and especially the neighborhood and plaza it was always in. It was always a great place to hang out after school and getting their great popcorn chicken and milk tea combo for a reasonable price, even to the end. It was never one of the worst boba spots or one of the best, but it was one many knew to be at least decent, especially their popcorn chicken... It truly is like no other with how seasoned, and crispy they are! My favorite flavored milk tea from here was caramel! Many as a kid saw their first milk tea drink from here in a ribbed boba cup that was fun to scratch with and the idea of stabbing a plastic straw to start enjoying your drink was ingrained for many. Over the years, they added more foods like calamari and fried mushrooms and more drinks like the snow drinks and red bull infusions recently. Even the cups and logo on them evolved too. But the taste has always stayed the same for most of its time here and in the modern era, represents a bygone era in milk tea...This opened at a time where there wasn't even many boba spots around and now there's at least 4 in this plaza and including some ones across the street! It truly is a different world for milk tea 20 years ago and now look how it has evolved! If you still really want to find other tapioca express's, there is another in san jose that their popcorn chicken isn't as good as well as the boba and milk tea. However, a tapioca express in union city is also ran by some of the same family members that ran this one, and perhaps maybe some of the great popcorn chicken they made here is still over there! The management here never really expected the massive love and outreach from the community about their closure and even closed up early after many long lines thought the afternoon! The cashiers and family members still prepared orders quickly even if they were big ones and apologized for any toppings or selections gone missing as the supplies wound down. Major props for them sticking it through all the way to the end!

Incredibly sad to see it go. I've been coming here since 2010 when I was a middle school student. It was one of the only places in Milpitas that was open late (pre-pandemic) and had incredibly juicy popcorn chicken. Sad to see the decline in the last 5 years but thank you for the memories!

They serve my personal best popcorn chicken (crispy chicken) in the Bay Area! Recommend mild flavor. Even better than some popcorn chicken in Taiwan.

I’ve been to other Tap Ex locations but this is the best one. I always get the avocado smoothie.

The best tapioca express that I been too. They have amazing snacks like fried mushrooms, calimari heads , or even friend popcorn fish. Drinks are also great and reasonable priced! Much cheaper than most other places. Even though this place is far for me I always go here since I can't get their snacks anywhere else. Highly recommended!

One of the best place to go for ice-cream roll. Perfect level of sweetness and variety of options to choose from.

They served me rancid aloe topping. Please check the expiration dates on your ingredients.

Boba was straight up sugar syrup. Need special effort to make it that bad. GF had a milk black tea and said it was the worst one she ever had. The lady at the counter was super rude to me and my girlfriend. Thought it was us but she was rude to the lady next to us as well.

Terrible service. Lady at the front is always so rude and hostile. Never again. Rather drive to the next nearest location than ever deal with this horrid type of service again. Would rate 0 stars if I could. Says they are unable to make a Jasmine Milk tea snow bubble when both Tapioca Express’s on Blossom Hill Rd as well as McKee Rd make this drink for me with 0 problems.. Lady at this location says they cannot make it due to “different recipes”.. what a joke. And unnecessarily rude about it as well. Seriously protect your energy and STAY AWAY.. (bad juju, feng shui, etc)
