The meat quality is definitely getting worse. The cut is so thin even though we ordered thick cut. And you can definitely know it’s very cheap meat. I’ve been here for more than 5 times. The quality here was pretty good and it’s definitely my top 1 Japanese bbq restaurant in the bay. Now I would say I will not come back again. Not worth it at all.

Dined in on Saturday evening - table of 3. The restaurant has a 90-minute dining format with entrées arriving every 6 minutes. The food was absolutely delicious and I'd definitely return for it. However, the service fell short of expectations. Our server wasn't familiar with basic dietary restrictions - she thought mayo contained dairy and couldn't distinguish between soju and sake when asked. Worse still, she didn't bother checking with the kitchen or management. For a restaurant at this level, staff should have stronger knowledge of ingredients and the beverage menu to properly guide diners, especially those with dietary needs. I'll be back for the food, but will hope for more knowledgeable service next time. Food is fairly priced.

My experience at Ushiya today with my parents was amazing, especially since they were back for thanksgiving, I had to treat them to a good meal. But this was a heavy credit due to our server Nathan as well, as he provided excellent service and was super friendly to us. Would 100% come back again!

Had a great experience. Very fast service, and we got to enjoy all the different cuts from the premium menu. They also have a large selection of appetizers and sides that paired perfectly with the meat. The grill cooked everything quickly too. Our waiter, Nathan, was amazing, super nice, checked in on us often, and made sure we had everything we needed. 🙂

There was plenty of parking, and the service was amazing. Nathan was truly a 10/10 server. The place is definitely on the pricier side, but I still recommend it. They give you a QR code to order, and if you choose the Wagyu tier, you get complimentary sodas. I was really glad the portions were smaller because it let us try so many different dishes before tapping out. Surprisingly, I didn’t feel gross afterward or get those heavy “meat sweats.” Overall, it’s a great spot for a once-in-a-while outing or a special occasion.

The staff is attentive but not overly. You know when the hover is too much? Thats not the vibe here. Our server, Fonda, always seemed to be there right when we need something often before we could ask!
We had the signature AYCE which was so good!! The meat was tender abd delicious! Worth every penny.
