Xing Fu Tang in Milpitas offers a convenient way to grab a boba tea with their self-checkout kiosks. It's great for a quick pick-me-up, but be aware of the limited seating if you're looking for a place to relax and chat. Here's the deal: Xing Fu Tang is all about their boba/pearls. Their boba is sweet and chewy, and that is what makes their boba drinks sweet. I tried their signature brown sugar boba milk tea. Given the name of the drink, I was expecting the milk tea itself to be sweet, but that wasn't the case. The chewy boba itself held all the sweetness and not the milk tea. The milk tea itself had a frothy texture. Their boba drinks might be a bit one-dimensional for those boba enthusiasts who prefer a more balanced flavor profile.Their drinks are also a bit pricy compared to other options in the area. My small drink was over $7 and not worth the price.

This was my third visit, and I ordered the #1 sugar boba again. Unfortunately, it didn't taste as fresh as it did the previous times. It might have been due to it being a Monday evening with fewer customers, but the boba seemed undercooked and had a slight freezer-burn taste. I was also not pleased with the automatic 10% tip, especially given the decline in quality.

Yo I never write reviews but the brown sugar boba I had was one of the worst. Didn’t taste any brown sugar and the boba was way over cooked and were all stuck together. Literally tasted like someone just threw over cooked boba in milk. A big far cry from the chains in NY (which are amazing) not sure what happened with this location but it kinda puts the name to shame.

The 1$ lamb skewers are actually Best in the World. Hands down, no where is better. They overcook the shrimp in the seafood, don't get that.Definitely one of my favorite places. However, service can feel lacking at times

The staff forgot to do ice-free. My cup was half-filled with ice.And the ice-free choice is +$0.75. It’s crazy. I’ve never seen any other milk tea stores like that.
Got their signature drink it was really good. Strawberry milk boba was good also BUT I still don't know if the pink boba is flavored because it doesn't taste like anything. The Thai Milk boba had that Thai Tea flavor but no sugar.

After hearing this place being No. 1 in Taiwan, I had to try it and I have to say, the boba is freshly made from scratch, they have a wok in front to show you how they cook it with brown sugar. Not just regular boba, they have others such as strawberry boba that I got with the matcha latte. Definitely would come back to try others.
