I have to admit, I'm a Mexican food junky! But this was the worst food I've had! Wife had the chicken chimichunga and did not like it ! I had the wet burrito which was terrible! Cheese sauce? Really!

When the page switched over from Electric Cheetah Cascade, I thought it was the same ownership - but it’s not, and this place has really good food. I’ve only done takeout so far but their tacos and tamales are authentic and first rate. Get the corn tortillas with your tacos. They also send you home with really good sauces and a foil pouch with limes and quick-pickled, spicy red onions. This is quickly becoming a go-to.

Service was terrible. Sat outside, once our order was taken the server did not return. Another staff brought us our meals after a very lengthy wait. Had to go inside to request more drinks, which took a long time to get. When the server finally brought our bill she disappeared and did not return. We finally went inside and took care of our bill.

Love stopping here when I am in Grand Rapids. A lot of people love the tacos, but I go for the el pastor quesadillas. So good every time!

Got a vegan burrito that was just ok. It was made fresh for me. We sat nearby at a small table to eat.

I have tried the Downtown Market and the Grandville location of Tacos El Cuñado, but never the Burton St. location, and I’ve heard from several friends that it is the best location. When we walked in, I was excited to be a minority, being the only Caucasian group in the whole restaurant! We ordered a bean dip appetizer to snack on until the the rest of our crew showed up. It was tasty. I ordered 3 traditional-style tacos (corn tortilla, onion, and cilantro) - beef cheek (cabeza,) tripe, and marinated pork (el pastor) and they were fantastic, but the best part was the big plate of cut limes, grilled and pickled onions, and charred jalapeños. Some places are a bit to miserly with those extra condiments, but not here; we even left some on the plate when we were full. Overall, I see why this place gets great reviews - it feels authentic, the portions are great, and the staff is super helpful and friendly. I even tried some hibiscus tea on my friend’s recommendation - so good!
