Latte was great, service was friendly and decent.I came here and had a Caesar wrap and a latte. The lettuce in the wrap was brown and chewy (not crunchy). The wrap itself was wet and soggy as well and overall was not great. A wrap is $9.50 so it’s a little disappointing to get something like that. Not a huge issue at all, but I think the cashier is new. When I asked for the Wi-Fi password the girl at the register had said “it’s on the wall somewhere”. I looked around for a few minutes and didn’t see anything, but when I looked back at the register it was on the placard right where you take your order.Management needs to look into a few things but it’s a cool spot.

stopped in on my lunch for a coffee and a bagel. i noticed my bagel was wrong when i got to my car so i went back inside to get the right bagel. the girls said it got switched with a different one and chased this man down in the parking lot to switch the bagels. they then handed me the bagel the other guy took. safe to say i did not eat it and it went straight into the trash. the previous visit i had also ordered something off the breakfast menu and it was still cold in the middle. being spinach and cheese, it was not good so that was also a food item that was not eaten. sadly i will not be back after this.

Such a nice coffee shop. The coffees are consistently good, the staff is always friendly, and even the owner has been wonderful to interact with on days she’s in.

Pleasant, relaxed seating areas, a very nice staff and quality coffee made my first visit a good one. I will note my drink was delayed 20 minutes, apparently due to a "water" issue. The staff was apologetic, but I would have appreciated a mention of the issue earlier, so I knew why the order was delayed. That said, the next time I want coffee in Mission Viejo I will make a return visit.

My favorite place to grab a latte on the weekend. Pastries are pretty good, my favorite are the homemade pop tarts!

Friendly staff and great drinks! They also have gluten free options in the bakery. The dining area is nice and relaxing and also has outdoor seating. Added bonus that they offer pup cups!

I asked for a macchiato and was served a regular espresso without the foamy milk, I had one of the baristas trying to convince me to add an extra shot of an espresso I refused then I asked for a cappuccino they offered me to make it on the house I refused and paid for the cappuccino. That's why you got the one star.

Y'all, this place has gluten free muffins. That's it, that's the review. Just kidding, I have more to say- but the gluten free treats are seriously enough to make me love this place forever. They offer a gf berry muffin and a gf chocolate banana loaf, as well as seasonal treats at certain times of the year (think pumpkin spice in the fall). So good! Their drink menu is great too. I really enjoy their chai lattes, and sometimes indulge in their drink of the month, which is often quite creative and fun. Ambiance is that of a cozy indie coffeehouse with big plush sofas and electric tables. Really welcoming. Friendly staff, too. A great place to stop for your morning pick-me-up or afternoon treat!

STEPH JUDGEMENT: Chill place popular with remote workers and students. I was in the area with some time to kill and was looking for a coffee joint to hang out in. There was a surprising dearth of coffee houses open later in the afternoon, so I could see why this place was popular. It's not a huge space, and all the tables were taken up by people busily tapping away on their laptops. It was a very warm day, which meant not as many people taking advantage of the plentiful outdoor seating. The young woman who took my order was very nice, and I had a pleasant time chilling (literally) with my iced latte at one of the bar seats by the windows. If you need an afternoon pick-me-up in the area, this is a solid choice.

Went here twice New Year’s eve weekend as we were staying with family friends in the area. Convenient location, good selection of drinks, friendly staff. I got iced lattes both days (white mocha and honey vanilla). Boyfriend got vanilla cold brew and a salted caramel latte (both recommendations from the baristas). All our drinks were so good! We also had the almond croissant & nutella croissant. Other pastries looked great too! Would come again if we end up in the area!

Coffees are very large for not a whole lot of espresso shots, mostly getting milk and sugar lots and lots of sugar! Had to ask for replacement lattes and the barista swirled my iced macchiato before handing it to me. The cinnamon swirl bread was super greasy and super hard. Super disappointed in this

The coffee is great. The food is yummy. The place is clean and cozy. The staff is sweet and hardworking. Prices are reasonable. My new favorite coffee shop when I visit my family in MV!

From Chicago, first time at High Ground with my daughter from CA who loves coffee shops : ) The service is outstanding! Our party of four ordered some quirky drink modifications and the barista was very patient and accommodating. My iced vanilla latte was also outstanding. Very nice vibe. Highly recommended!

**updated Owner Kris left a response so I called the shop this morning. Sunday I was told her name was ‘Chrissy’ so I asked for ‘Chrissy’ and I was corrected that her name is Kris and she wasn’t in. I called just now hours later and she is still not in. I appreciated the response but after being corrected on your name in a less than a friendly tone my star rating stands. BTW I’m pretty sure the 2nd time I called the same sullen employee answered. Coffee shops are a dime dozen you might want to step up the customer service.**I did not get a chance to taste the food or experience the atmosphere as James the clerk so haughtily told me I didn’t need what I came in seeking. I came up from San Diego in order to get a gift card for someone who lives near by the shop. I asked a very sullen James who was behind a register for a $30 gift card. He personified spoiled, indulged rebellious teenager but nonetheless he’s an employee there. I don’t know what he was doing but he was fiddling with some cash and a line was forming behind me. A very tattooed young girl wearing a large nose ring came over to work the other register and James told me he was too busy to help me and I should go to the other register so I asked the young girl for the gift card. She wasn’t sure how to do it and James was no help at all. After she rang up the card the second time it charged tax. You don’t pay tax on a gift and she asked the sullen James if that were true and he told me to my face one pays tax on a gift card (people you know this is not correct). They were doing something wrong and it was then James told me “you don't need a gift card and you’re not getting one” gave me a dirty look and walked away. Essentially insinuating that I leave. I asked for the Manager but “Chrissy” was not there (it was 3:30pm Sunday 3-DEC). Apparently they do not need my business at that coffee shop. Trust me I will never go there again and would never recommend it.
