Horriblr Horrible place.
No AC. No ventilation. Bad service. Filthy place, tables are dirty. Most of the items in the menu were not available.
Any thing we asked, they said sorry this item is not available!.

My first and last time...

Absolute nightmare , super hot inside and super slow service . They were outa almost all foods and drinks on their menu . Do not go there if you’re in laguna niguel or mission viejo

Not recommended. No AC. So very hot inside that it is difficult to enjoy the food. Manager told us 6 months ago “We are Fixing the AC”. Obviously not true. They have 2 or 3 portable AC units- cooling the front desk… but not the customers! The Teppanyaki chef tried his best.

The wait service was poor… slow, no follow up, didn’t check the food results… Food quality is down, prices are up. The place is worn-out and dirty. This mall is dying… looks like Riptide business levels are way down also. Finally, the staff here just doesn’t seem to care.

We went to go grab food and called ahead to ask if they were open, and they said yes. So we went to go there and the doors were locked, and they said they were close. The sign said they closed at 10 but the time was only 9. I will never come back here, Ichibiri is a way better spot to go

We were a party of 6 and super excited about our dinner. Our chef came with an attitude. He cussed a lot. My daughter asked for no mushrooms and he told her to shut up. He walked away without cooking our protein and we thought he was kidding. We walked out and only tipped our waitress it was awful

I like riptide but they always run out of food or drinks and they took some time to get drinks and food. Food taste great!

Last night, my party of four visited Riptide for Happy Hour, arriving at 9:15 PM and choosing to sit by the sushi counter. The sushi chef was excellent and engaging — a definite highlight of the evening.

However, the overall experience was disappointing. My wife was excited to order the Bacon Fried Rice and Rock Shrimp, but when we began placing our order, we were told that draft beer was unavailable because the bartender had already left. We opted for sake instead, which took over 20 minutes to arrive and was served so hot it burned my fingertip — completely undrinkable.

Most frustrating of all, at 9:50 PM (35 minutes after we sat down), I asked about my wife’s food and was informed the cook had gone home — meaning her entire order was never going to come. She waited for half an hour, hungry, only to find out her food wasn’t even being prepared.

This lack of communication and service was unacceptable. We understand closing times, but if certain items or staff are no longer available, that should be communicated upfront so guests can make informed decisions. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously, as it reflects poorly on an otherwise promising restaurant

I've been here several times--and, while I almost always have a great experience, the last time I was here the service was inattentive enough to make me remember it three weeks later. We had the wrong food come to our table (momentarily), certain dishes and place settings not provided until too late, and other small things like that.

The food was good, as always. When I'm back and the service improves, I'll update my review.

The food was good but we had made a 7 pm reservation and was not sat till 7:45ish the server didn’t come to take drink orders for another 20-30 minutes and they were out of a lot of different things including steak and the fish.

Veggies are good, it's a typical salty and buttery taste of teppanayaki food. The riptide steak reminds me cardboard, it doesn't have taste (I ordered medium temperature).
