Ronaldo's Taco Shop

09.02.25 This is my first time visit to Ronaldo's Taco Shop. This visit was after lunch and around 2 and 3pm in the afternoon.

My observations:
The restaurant is clean and inviting. The salsa bar is clean as well as the drinks fountain. There's definitely plenty of salsa choices.

There was one young lady cashier who took my order. She seems to be fairly familiar with taking orders and answering questions, although I recommend to management to give her more training on what it takes to be front and center doing customer service and in representing the restaurant.

I first had fish taco. That was pretty good, fresh trimmings, and it could have a little bit more fish. The flavors on that fish taco was good so I ventured to try the chile relleno combo (with rice and beans) which is my favorite Mexican food.

I didn't need to order but might as well since it's my first time there. A male rep took my order at that time. That was a good upgrade to my first counter experience. My combo came with piping hot tortillas, and the temperature on the fish, beans, and relleno is perfect. The rice being hot and perfect reminded me of one visit I had in a Santa Ana restaurant where the rice was cold - major let down, especially when it's in downtown Santa Ana.

Another important observation: the restaurant uses good quality plastic utensils and containers - thank you!

Kudos to the cook who took time to glance at counter area and gave a courtesy smile.

Overall pretty good experience and I do plan to go back.

Great Place. We have been doing Taco Tuesday for the past year. The food is great, and the people there are very friendly.

Generic Mexican food meet way overcooked basic crap that every Mexican food has Mexican food is just so generic garbage. Not 1 place does anything different. But Taco surf in sunset Beach! That place sets very high standards for Mexican food and environment.

Great experience all around. I ordered the carne asada burrito and it was very tasty. The meat was tender and full of flavor. The ingredients were fresh and the salsas were all unique and delicious. I definitely want to try the carne asada fries for the next visit.

Spent $25 for food that I couldnt eat. If you ask to make something a specific way, they will mess it up. Say no guac six times and guac comes. Just meat and cheese in the burrito please and get rice and beans. I even had to go re order after my requests were not on the receipt, didnt matter. I wish I could throw the food at the guy who took my order. He sucks tremendously

$12.50 for a so so burrito, $3 for a can of coke and $6 for a side of fries. Girl at the counter had a horrible attitude. Guess they figure they're in a high end area but most customers were labor people who probably don't make a ton of money. They'll never get another penny from me.

Ordered a Chorizo & egg burrito. Menu says it's $11.85 and a note on the register says there is a 4% discount for cash. Noticed while I was waiting that I was charged $12.74. Asked the woman at the counter, who seemed to understand me just fine when ordering, why I was overcharged and suddenly she either claimed to not understand or had no ability to do anything about it. I think it's BS and will not go back.

Placed online order which they did not see until I arrived to p/u. Why order ahead of going if u still have to order when u get there?

I got the worst food poisoning from this place I've ever had in my lifetime. I'm about to go to the hospital. I've been sick for 2 days. I would NOT go here. (I used to be a GM of a restaurant. To make someone this violently ill, they have to be making major health code violations.)???????

The food is good, only the cashier doesn't take the orders well and puts out more than what I ordered and she charged me too much money. It was my most expensive lunch of the day, and she still gave me everything because they were going to throw it away, that's not my problem, I just I want what I ordered and she was very rude to me, it's my last day here, her name is Anita... that's what the resibio said...

Great food. Sports on the TV. Perfect.

While the interior is nothing special, the service was top notch, and the tacos I ordered were excellent. These are not your regular sized or street taco sixes. These are the large size tacos and while you must expressly ask for things lime cheese, spur cream or other items, they are really good.
