Slice offers the best shabu-shabu in south county and certainly among the best in OC. Their ponzu and goma sauces stand up against the best I’ve had. Plus, the staff is always friendly and helpful.

Delicious and experience, definitely worth going in a group so you can try a few different cuts of meat. We tried the spicy miso and pork bone broth with a perfect mix of flavor and spicy.I personally love being able to try small portions of a lot of different things, so this was perfect. Wygu beef, aged Angus and short rib - delicious

Not many choices in south OC. We typically go to Irvine or Costa Mesa. What a great find as we live in the area! Great customer service, yummy shabu and lots of ponzu (they have diff types -- my fave)!

This place used to be fantastic when it first opened, but my recent visit left me disappointed. While the quality of the meat has dipped, what bothered me the most was the tiny portion of vegetables they now serve. When they first started, there were generous servings of fresh veggies, but now it's barely anything. The decline in both quality and quantity of vegetables is a letdown.

Out of the way but not too hard to find, and totally worth it. Food was spot on and the service was good. We arrived on a weeknight and still had to put our name down on the waitlist, and the staff seemed minimal but sufficient. I imagine this place gets really packed on busy nights. We each ordered the pick-two-meats option and it was a very filling meal. All our portions, sauces, veggies, etc., were neatly served in a bento style box. I loved that the shabu pots were heated on induction tops, which meant that we didn't work up a sweat just sitting next to our respective pots (I'm looking at you, The Melting Pot!). We got the tonkatsu and miso broths and both were tasty. The noodle portions looked a little small but turned out to be just right, given all the other accoutrements provided. We greatly enjoyed our meals and the experience, and laughed at the end of the meal when I finally noticed the ladle and spoon set out for us - we had diligently fished out our noodles from the broth with just our chopsticks. Amateurs! Ha.Editing to add: the meats were amazing!

Unexpected location for shabu shabu. Tucked in the back corner, we decided to try it out. They were a bit busy, so we could only choose between the bar or (I think) handicap table (it was separate from the other tables). The server was very knowledgeable and helpful. We had the baked green mussels, fried agadashi tofu, and the 6 oz beef rib eye shabu shabu combo. Very tasty.

We've been here 3 times now. The food is good and the staff is nice. It's a small place but we've never wait long for a table. It's a little on the pricy side compared to other Shabu places I've been to. Also be sure to review your bill. The last time we went it'd was still during happy hour and we ordered a couple of beers. I had to say something to get it fixed. In the end they did fix the bill. All in all I'd recommend checking it out.
