I always order for pick up here. If you sit you're set. If you order pick up they charge every single thing including the siracha or side of eel sauce you would assume should come included with your meal.. that's the only reason I'm giving this place a 4Foods a 5It's always busy which is a great sign. But yea it's not a lot obviously what you're spending on the sauces but still, they should be provided and any more after that should be charged.

Sushi Plantation is our go-to for sushi in Orange County. They have tons of great options for rolls and the seafood is always fresh without a "fishy" taste. The other non-seafood items are also good and everything is always well presented. You can tell the chefs are passionate about what they do.

I frequently visit this place for lunch and dinner. It is by far my favorite place for sushi. Their big boss hand rolls, and toro are both amazing! The staff is super friendly and they never fail to deliver quality sushi. Last time I tried Uni with a Quail egg on top and it was wildly strange, yet very satisfying. I will always recommend this spot for anyone looking for a good meal. Always fresh, always good cuts of fish, and always great service! Thanks SP!

It is the best sushi place near us. So whenever we want sushi, this is the place to go.

We had a fairly large group that came in for sushi. We were served fairly quickly, and all of our orders came without any issues. The sushi was delicious and the kids enjoyed the special sodas they had. I would come here again if in the area.

This place only has stars for the RAW food. I got the Sunrise on Avery Pkwy and Yellowtail Carpaccio. The fish was fresh and buttery. I loved the combo of the mayo and soy sauce to dip the Sunrise pieces in.The minus stars are for the bento box with salmon. I placed my order online and came after the estimated complete time. They still weren't finished with my order when I arrived and I waited some minutes. I got my order and arrived home. The salmon appeared to be cooked and had a great crispy texture on the outside. Inside was raw as sashimi. I'm astonished how the cooks could have made such a major mistake. They cook this dish day in and out; I consider it pure negligence to allow food to go out THIS undercooked. I was able to save it by putting the salmon in my oven but wasn't happy about losing the texture.I know places are suffering from the labor shortage, but if it was going to take longer to cook my salmon correctly, just make the wait time longer and I will accommodate it.

Amazing staff. Somehow even BETTER sushi. We refuse to go anywhere else. This place is amazing and the chefs are always on their game. Niko, Nobu, Pepsi, and joker are all around the most talented sushi chefs in south Orange County. The servers are always friendly and helpful, especially Noshi, and Jen. Super cute. Highly recommend the albacore belly, the lady in red, and the Long Island roll. Sunrise on Avery never misses either.

I'm honestly pretty heartbroken and embarrassed writing this review.. Heartbroken because I have been coming to Sushi Plantation for SO long, over ten years ago at their other location across the street. Embarrassed because I have recommended this place to my close friend who then got food poisoning after our visit here on Monday. I am just so so sad that they have so far downhill from how great this place used to be. The server who took our order (who it seems 2 others reviewers had similar experiences with this guy on the same day as us 4 days ago) seemed really inexperienced u0026 didn't seem to care much about his job or serving people. He got our order wrong over 3 different times. He was careless u0026 had a hard time keeping all the items we ordered bc he didn't write them down, something I wish he would've as it would have made everything easier for us all. Wish someone would tell him there's no shame in ensuring you're getting an order correct by writing it down. Multiple different dishes u0026 sides never came and we had to re order them after quite a long time of waiting. When we would need service, he genuinely looked annoyed to have to get up from his seat in the front to help us. The service was just so abysmal.. way different than how they used to be. Whoever runs this place now could really benefit from hiring more experienced servers u0026 cooks. As if the service didn't already kill my mood, the chefs also dropped the ball because the friend I ate with (and who ate here weeks before based on my recommendation) got food poisoning u0026 threw up her whole lunch a couple hours after we ate there. I remember when we were eating she noticed right away that the broccoli in the tempura seemed bad u0026 not cooked thoroughly. I didn't eat it which is why I'm guessing I didn't also get sick (we ate the same dishes other than this). I'm wondering if the tempura was made in a rush seeing as how it was forgotten by our server and we had to ask for it at the very end of our meal since it never came out. The other dishes were good from the chefs (although the rolls are not nearly as good as they used to be) u0026 they were kinder than the server at least, but overall the experience was bad. Super bummed that my once-favorite sushi spot in MV is unrecognizable in so many ways now. Will not be returning or recommending anyone else here.

Service is horrible. There is only one option on the menu for udon with assorted tempura. The d*** waiter brings me plain udon. It's not even an option on the menu and the waiter argues with me about it.Be ware the service is very slow!Train your waiters!Good eating!

Food was subpar, service was dismal. My family and I went here for a quick lunch. Despite being the only customers there, servers were difficult to get ahold of (sashimi chefs would hear us calling and stared blankly most the time) and service was slow. A member of my party received a different food than what we asked for. When we asked the waiter, the waiter did not apologize and instead tried to convince us that we did order that? All four of us were present at the table so we knew he was lying. Having lost his appetite from the rude server, he sent it back and didn't ask for a replacement. We let our order-taking server know that he got our order wrong and he decided to argue with us too!!! Eventually, after pointing out on the menu, they admitted we were actually correct. ‍Waiter walked away WITHOUT an apology and we left after paying. The 1 item was comped instead of the whole bill after two waitstaff tried to argue with us and tell us we were wrong. HORRIBLE AND RUDE!!!

I think my mom and I found our new sushi spot! It was empty but another party of two arrived the same time as us. We figured it was because of Super Bowl. I love how they had the game up so it was nice to keep track of the game. Food:+ Mango Tango Roll: the mango on this roll was refreshing. Instead of seaweed, it was wrapped with soy paper. I love how fresh the salmon was and the sauce was delicious. My only concern about it was the amount of sauce on the roll. It made the roll soggy and hard to pick up since it kept falling apart. Other than that, this roll was still yummy and I'd order it again in the future. + Spider Roll: This was different from other places I order from. However, the spider hand roll was still good. + Spicy Tuna on Crispy Rice: YUMMMMY! My go to when I'm out for sushi! I love how crispy the rice is and the spicy tuna on top was delicious!! Must get!My mom also ordered a Bento box which she enjoyed as well. We love the salad dressing that the salad came with! Overall, I'll be coming back! The staff and sushi chef were friendly and food was amazing.
