Great big breakfast
Everything was under seasoned and overpriced $20 For the hash skillet, eggs were not real eggs came out a a carton or premixed and overcooked for scrambled. The potatoes were undercooked. The”hash” bits tasted bacon bits out of the package from the store you put on salads. Too much undercooked green peppers overpowered the dish. The salmon avocado toast had great presentation however severely lacked in the expected flavor.Basic diner vibe no character. The only redeemable thing was the service which is only reason this is not a 1 star review.
We were excited to get breakfast here but unfortunately it was not good. I got the chicken fried steak, scrambled eggs, and home fries. Firstly, the home fries were essentially just scalloped potatoes cooked in oil with no seasoning or anything else and so it lacked flavor, the eggs were very spongy and rubbery, and the chicken fried steak was served cold. I pointed it out to the waitress and she took it away, about 10 minutes later I got it back and it was obvious to me that they just microwaved it. I took a bite and it was very bland and flavorless. I was really shocked by this place because I thought it'd at least be better than a place like Coco's or Denny's, but it wasn't. Maybe I was here on an off day or something because it seems pretty popular? But I definitely was not impressed whatsoever. A shame!
The staff was super friendly. My fiesta burrito was delicious! My friend enjoyed his salmon eggs benedict. The cinnamon swirl pancake was nice, but not my favorite. Just my personal preference, though. I would love to eat here again!

My son and I had breakfast at this location. The service was great, but the food was awful. There's no taste at all. I ordered steak (medium rare) and eggs. The steak was very dry. We were very disappointed with the food. We're definitely not going back to this place.
I got the "Spicy Vegan Bowl" to go. The food looked good and was good value overall. Sadly it was also mostly bland (except for the chorizo) and certainly not Spicy. They also included single use utensils despite me specifically marking "no utensils" 🤷 Might get it again if I was looking for a hearty, local breakfast.
Great place to bring the family. Prices are fair but on the higher side. The quality is far superior to most places around this location. Coffee selections rotate seasonally. The selection of eggs Benedict is off the charts. A must go for breakfast. Oh ya, healthy options are avaliable as well

I recently dined at this Broken Yolk and I was extremely disappointed with my experience. While the food itself was decent, the service was terrible and left me feeling unsafe.
My biggest complaint was the lack of attention to my request for the onion and peppers to be cooked well done. Despite mentioning this multiple times, they were consistently served raw. When the food was finally brought out by a different server, the original waitress failed to check if my request had been fulfilled. Her fake apology and lack of effort to rectify the situation were incredibly frustrating.
Additionally, the decision to become a cashless business due to after-hours break-ins is a red flag. This suggests that the location may not be entirely safe, which is a major concern for any customer.
Overall, I was extremely dissatisfied with my experience at Broken Yolk. The poor service and safety concerns make it unlikely that I will return.

Had a fantastic breakfast this morning at Broken Yolk in Mission Viejo. Sandra was my kind and extraordinary server. Very efficient and professional. The restaurant is clean, the staff are pleasant and welcoming and the food delicious. I ordered the chicken fried steak, scrambled eggs, fresh fruit, sourdough toast, OJ and yes of course a coffee. The food was delivered hot and tasty and the coffee and OJ perfect.
Sandra was a gem and I appreciate a good breakfast at a consistently good Cafe or Diner. Highly recommended

Had a terrific breakfast yesterday at Broken Yoke. Juan was my server and was terrific, providing quality customer service. I ordered the chicken fried steak with fruit, two scrambled eggs and sourdough toast and it was perfect. I could not finish it all but it was truly a good breakfast. The ambiance was calm and cool with terrific background music.
Highly recommended
