Very nice place to eat. Never been there before. Went for the $5 deal but only available at KFC & A&W combo restaurants but had a great experience no the less. 2 are for $20 so not bad.

Food was cooked perfectly. There’s nothing like a root beer float on a hot day. Hits the spot! The staff was so friendly here! Great pit stop if you get a chance on the way to Yosemite south entrance or oakhurst!
the lady that helped me and my kids had no customer service. i asked for a shake with chocolate and strawberry if it was possible, she responded, if I have too it's gonna look gross, i responded with thats fine, with an annoyed look she told Me she would have to charge for additional toppings. which i was ok with. we waited almost 40mins for 3 shakes, 1 root beer float, a cheeseburger and 2 chili cheese fries. she had forgot the root beer float, so we had to than wait for that to be made, and the chili cheese fries were absolutely horrible, I do not recommend them. Not to mention it was extremely hot inside the little building.

Just went today for the first time. There aren't many standalone A&Ws left in California, and doubly so ones with the obvious drive-in pedigree of this location. It's an old-school burger joint, and I wouldn't want it any other way. Food was excellent, atmosphere top-notch, and the service was friendly. Next time I'm in Modesto, I know where I'm stopping for another one of their delicious burgers!

The food is a bit pricey. I think of they lowered the prices. More people would visit them.The service was great. All the ladies were awesome.It took a while to get my food. But I looked at all the memorabilia on the walls. It's was nice.
Kid-friendliness: I use to take my kids there all the time. They have a little play area outside. And they use to have music and cats on Fridays. Idk if they still do that. My kids are older now. It's was so nice!

Disappointed. Saw a commercial for 5 buck meal on Tuesdays. Went to the famous A & W in Modesto and was told they didn't honor that special because they were privately owned and that was a corporate commercial. I was very disappointed. I drove 15 miles in traffic to get to get there and they didn't offer any other specials or discounts for Tuesday when they should at least give a discount on Tuesday since it's basically false advertising. The burger and fries were good but I won't be back.
