Sadly, this Historic and one of the original A&W locations will be closing down permanently. Though it managed to push through many economic downturns, this unfortunate demise comes by the hands of a worthless, ball-less scum of the earth ADA lawsuit chaser that is known from going around to older established businesses and blackmailing them. Some of these a-holes will settle for hush money Pay off to keep moving to their next target. Unfortunately, retrofitting 60-year-old landmarks aren't always an option thus forcing them out of business as in this case. If anyone has the information on these ADA d-bags feel free to put them on blast here!

Very nice place to eat. Never been there before. Went for the $5 deal but only available at KFC & A&W combo restaurants but had a great experience no the less. 2 are for $20 so not bad.

Food was cooked perfectly. There’s nothing like a root beer float on a hot day. Hits the spot! The staff was so friendly here! Great pit stop if you get a chance on the way to Yosemite south entrance or oakhurst!Kid-friendliness: Great place for kids!Parking: 10+
the lady that helped me and my kids had no customer service. i asked for a shake with chocolate and strawberry if it was possible, she responded, if I have too it's gonna look gross, i responded with thats fine, with an annoyed look she told Me she would have to charge for additional toppings. which i was ok with. we waited almost 40mins for 3 shakes, 1 root beer float, a cheeseburger and 2 chili cheese fries. she had forgot the root beer float, so we had to than wait for that to be made, and the chili cheese fries were absolutely horrible, I do not recommend them. Not to mention it was extremely hot inside the little building.

Just went today for the first time. There aren't many standalone A&Ws left in California, and doubly so ones with the obvious drive-in pedigree of this location. It's an old-school burger joint, and I wouldn't want it any other way. Food was excellent, atmosphere top-notch, and the service was friendly. Next time I'm in Modesto, I know where I'm stopping for another one of their delicious burgers!
