This place is amazing. Nicole is awesome behind the counter! The food is to die for. The drinks are always good, it's loud is community, we love it. I go with friends, I take dates, I go with family. It's an all around place for all occasions. Great place.

Cute interior and outside! Food was delicious and employees are super friendly. We sat down by the counter snd loved seeing the chef cook in right front of us. We were there for brunch and next time, I’ll come back for dinner and dinks :)
We're visiting from out of town and our friends recommended this place. Everything on the menu looked amazing so even though we didn't have reservations for 6 people, we came and waited around 30minutes for a table on a Saturday night (not bad at all!). The beers and kombucha were great and all the dishes we ordered were very well made and delicious. We ordered 2 to 3 plates of each dish and the owner lady even made sure we were not ordering too much. We're glad to find that Modesto has such a good restaurant now. We will definitely come back since it looks like their menu changes often. Kudos to the hardworking pair that runs the restaurant!

I was only in Modesto for one night at the start of a road trip along the northern Californian and Oregon coast and I only chose it because of its links to George Lucas and American Graffiti, but this meal was exceptional. The brie bomb with icing sugar was lovely, although the pastry could have been crispier. The pork belly, though, was an amazing combination of Asian fusion flavors...very easy to get wrong...but this chef clearly knows his stuff. Highly recommended.

Bauhaus is probably my favorite restaurant in Modesto. The food is always incredible. Honestly, just close your eyes and point at the menu and you’ll love whatever you get. It’s a tight fit inside and the back patio, but that absolutely adds to the vibe. Great place for a date or a small group. I’ve even been to a private baby shower here. Love it!!!
Vegetarian options: Many vegan options available and a wonderful chef you can trust with this kinda thing.
Parking: Parking is behind the restaurant and can be cramped but usually isn’t an issue
Kid-friendliness: Kids are fine to be there, but it’s not the kind of place where your kid might enjoy something from the menu. It’s also like, very much date night space for us, so I’d prefer NOT to have my kid with me ;)
Very cute hole in the wall, tapas place in downtown. I wish Modesto had more places like this. Their dishes are big enough to share, a little bigger than traditional tapas but smaller than entres. Their food is all fresh and light, tasty, made right in front of your eyes. Highly recommend and will be going back for more
