I used to come here a lot when I lived in Modesto. It was like an oasis. I'm glad over 15 years later they're still in business.

Stopped in the Deva Cafe in Modesto for lunch. It’s one of those cafes that you order at the counter and the server brings you the food when it’s ready. We shared the house salad and a turkey clubhouse sandwich. We also had two lemonades with fresh fruit in them. The salad was really tasty! It had mixed greens, pecans, apple, Parmesan cheese with a creamy basil vinaigrette. I promised myself to try to copy the dressing at home. The sandwich was also delicious! It was on sourdough, loaded with avocado, bacon and turkey. It was an overall excellent lunch! I’d definitely love to try other things on the menu.

Really nice place. Liked that it was spacious. Generous portions and good food. Did not order a coffee but saw just about everyone else get one. I got their Hash breakfast plate. I also do like that you pay ahead of time so when you're done eating you can just leave and don't have to wait on a check. Was in and out in 45 minutes. That's excellent for 10am Saturday breakfast.

First time here, and the place was cold, the menu is hard to read and sadly I order a large orange juice thinking it would be fresh but I saw when the server poured it from a store bought bottle:/I really thought I was going to like it, but was disappointed; My salad was very plain and mostly just big pieces of lettuce:/ (the staff is friendly and nice)!

Killer burrito and fruit bowl! The staff was accommodating to my bizarre coffee requests and they were quite friendly. If you’re in the Modesto area, stop by this joint for a good breakfast/brunch

The food gave a very home made feeling, and the chicken euphoria was delicious! Had the iced coffee and it was rich and flavorful. All in all a wonderful place for a local bite!

Heather run a top notch cafe with great tasting, fresh, food and drinks. The staff is always pleasant, even when busy. My favorites are the burgers, the chicken salad sandwich, and her Asian chicken salad.

Best place to have a quick meal. They have everything you could want for a quick lunch or even a leisurely one. Great staff and quick service. Variety of unique items on the menu. And local beer on tap. Check them out!

Great food and reasonably priced! Better to call in order, as it can take a while. Friendly staff!

It was a Saturday and I needed a nice place to do some work so I went to the Starbucks on Oakdale and Merle. Got blank stared by a worker who didn’t want to be there and was surrounded by loud thumping speakers playing top 40 and families full of kids running around.Quickly noped out of there and decided to give this place in downtown a try. Deva Cafe had a nice buzz and a non distracting energy with nice decor which allowed me to get stuff done. Coffee was okay but giving it 5 stars for the experience more than anything. Modesto needs more places like this rather then having a boring Starbucks on every corner.
