I really like this place for adults. It is the only traditional tea service/ experience that I know of in Stanislaus.It is not for kids. Not just the food, but the atmosphere is not kid friendly. I was a little irritated that I thought it was kid centered when I brought my kids for a tea time experience, specifically kid themed. I didn't feel comfortable with the kids there being kids. Its very different than taking your kids to a family restaurant, or even a coffee shop /cafe.1. The teas / themed teas are great. Very refreshing.2. The themed tea services are for adults who have nostalgic tastes. I enjoyed what I thought was for kids.3. The food is okay for the tea service. I would definitely try out the tea / food outside of the tea service.The kids with various ages did not care for it, besides the cookies / chocolates.Hope this helps anyone interested in a tea service. Probably best to come in and order a tea and food before making reservations.

My girlfriends and I were so excited to try this place. So much that we conference called days before to look at the menu and really prep for our experience here. We all agreed we wanted to try a little bit of everything, afterall, we are driving two hours to get there. On arrival, we were sat down at our prepped table. Our hostess wasn’t the most welcoming at first and we let it pass. We asked for a shepherds pie which was on her cafe menu, and she told us that our menu was set. We were confused. Why would she not want to sell us additional items, right? We thought maybe it is a reservation item.. we checked the website, no reservations were required. We asked her as second time; “Let’s see how you feel after the tower.” She stepped away. Girl! We want to try the pie!… What restaurant does this? Everything came out. The tea was great, the food was okay and still we wanted the pie. We drove out here and we wanted to get the most out of our experience, we noticed other interactions with customers that were just not up to par with any service establishment. We found a hair in our scone, when we discreetly let her know she looked annoyed. No apology, nothing was said. She took it and handed us a new one without dialogue… lol at this point we decided we were done. We finished our tea and left. Will not be recommending this place. Just order your tea online and slice your cucumbers at home.We were definitely not her cup of tea!

Took Amtrak with a friend to come out here and try Afternoon Tea experience for the first time - did the Sherlock themed tea; it was delicious! I’m actually not a big tea person and went mostly for the savory and sweets but the Whiskey tea I chose was actually pretty good and changed my mind a little about tea. I definitely plan to come next month for the next themed tea!Side note the rarebit and wellingtons in the Sherlock tea was literally amazing

My girlfriend and I came here for our 3rd anniversary! The atmosphere was very peaceful and everything was very clean. All the food was great quality and the tea was perfect! We will definitely come again! Recommended!!!

They need more helpers and the cafe. The poor lady was all alone. Not a good menu . The atmosphere is okay. Could use some classical music softly playing. A better menu other than mayonnaise and cucumbers. And a few shortbreads. Should work harder on a proper menu and get more help.

I've never really been a fan of tea, so I never gave this place a chance until today, and I'm glad I did. I was able to get a sweetened version of the Hawaiian Wedding and it was so delicious and incredibly cheap for the size of drink I got.

Reading the other yelp reviews definitely helped to prepare me for our trip. First to note--the children's menu, as in another review, does not include the whole list of items on the menu although this is not on the website OR on the menu; it looks like from the menu a child receives the same as an adult. Luckily, because I had read the review, I was prepared for that. Otherwise I would have been shocked. Second to note, you can ONLY tip in cash which I was unaware of until I paid the bill. Luckily I had cash because the server definitely deserved it. The food was delicious! The drinks were delicious! We had a great time and we will go again.
Super sweet customer service. Very cute decor. The tea is very good. There are many different varieties of tea to choose from.

This place has so much potential to be fantastic! The owner is the rudest, unkind, and unfriendly person I have ever met. Your dining experience is timed. The other staff is friendly and tries to compensate for the owner but it's not enough. The food is decent but usually a bit dry. The teas are very good which is why I suspect this place is still in business. If you want a refill, or to order anything additional to your original order, you are met with disdain. I will say that the teapots, teacups and general atmosphere is very pleasant if you can handle the rest.

The time we spent at Dragonfly Tea Room was exceptional and therapeutic. We always enjoy inviting friends and family. The setting is very heartwarming and the atmosphere is so beautifully decorated with teacups, teapots and different variating themes throughout the year. We always come back and share time with new friends and company and recommend the location anyone who enjoys such a classy setting, good food and tea!
