The Ice Cream Company in Modesto, CA has been my go-to spot since I was a kid, and it continues to hold a special place in my heart. More than just a nostalgic treat, it’s a place with purpose. The Ice Cream Co. is a nonprofit organization committed to providing job training and real-world experience to individuals facing barriers to employment. From people with disabilities to those in recovery or learning English, this company believes in second chances and building futures.

Every visit comes with a warm, welcoming atmosphere and a scoop (or two) of delicious, homemade ice cream. The food menu is just as amazing — freshly made, thoughtfully prepared, and served with care. But what truly sets The Ice Cream Co. apart is the heart behind it all. The staff is not only friendly but also clearly empowered through the training program, and you can see the pride in their work.

This place isn’t just about enjoying a treat — it’s about supporting a mission. Every purchase helps uplift someone’s life and career. I couldn’t recommend it more. The service was great and I had a lot of fun and it was better baskin Robins and the place was lovely and creative I wish I could give them 100k stars instead of 5 more people should come here more often and try the coffee oreo carmel ice cream!🍦:) ;)

Really great food and really excellent service. I highly recommend this spot. If you want something really unique and delicious, try their "Deluxe" sandwich. I had one today and they made it perfect.

We took a trip here from Fresno. We were pleased to see they had a Grill so we could have lunch before ice cream!

We came with a group of 12 but they had our food & ice cream in no time!

Everything was delicious. The staff was very friendly. The bathroom was clean. The restaurant was quiet.

Did you know the Ice Cream Company & Grill is a non profit organization? They offer employment and training to Special Needs people! Their food and Ice cream is made in house! If you have a chance to try them out, you should!! Our service was great!!

The Carrot Cake ice cream is delicious!!!! Definitely comimg back😋 P.S don't ever change the recipe!

Just moved to Modesto and had the BEST hot fudge sundae I've had in decades at the Ice Cream Co & Grill, seriously! The ice cream is really creamy and the hot fudge was nicely placed throughout so there was still hot fudge when I got to the last of my sundae. The atmosphere is fun and lively and the staff are very customer oriented. This is definitely my go-to place for all things ice cream!

I give them 5 Stars because working with special needs people needs to happen more and these people are fabulous. I heard the manager tell the employee how well she had done as she was leaving.

Been coming to this place since I was a teen. Family friendly and always clean. I love that they help employ kids with special needs so they can feel important that is so special to see. I love the atmosphere and the staff always ready to serve you. I'm still going to give 5 stars even though this is the only place that doesn't serve fries with their burgers. It's a bummer but they give chips with the meal. This day we decided to just order cones and they never disappoint. We got strawberry, cookies and cream, reses, and cookie dough. This was just one scoop as well. So they're pretty good size. Definitely not stingy. I come here with my family now and my girls love it. Been bringing them here since they were little. I definitely recommend giving this little shop a try.

I really enjoyed the food. The environment was quite quaint and pleasant. I enjoyed the colors of the walls and the music, however the staff were very unwelcoming, I came in to have a sundae for my birthday and me and my friends felt unwelcomed. I would go back for the grilled cheese though.
