Listen, I am picky when it comes to Mexican food. My grandma‘s set the bar high. And there are two specific dishes that I always order at a new restaurant, and that is Caldo de Res and Chile Rellenos…these are basic dishes but I’m beyond snobby when it comes to them. If they mess these up then I will never go back. Lupita’s Homestyle Cocina exceeded my expectations. The chile relleno was full of flavor and cooked to perfection. Lupitas only cooks caldo de res on Thursdays and it just so happened to be a Thursday when I ordered. The Caldo de Res tasted like home. I know she used the beef bones to make the broth because you can taste the oils. It was cooked to perfection with big chopped vegetables and nice sized chunks of beef. We also ordered the pick 3 and got Chile relleno, chicken enchilada, and a chicken chimichanga. It came with a nice sized helping of beans and rice. I got a monster burrito with beef and it was no joke! HUGE burrito and it had everything I wanted in a burrito (beef, whole beans, rice, cheese, guacamole, and pico de gallo. The sour cream was on the side and it was served with your choice of red or green sauce over it. Bomb. I got a flan for desert and oh my goodness. I seriously didn’t expect much because the food was good enough. But dang, that flan was spectacular. The perfect consistency and the Carmel top of the flan was so creamy and smooth. It didn’t have that burnt taste that a lot of flans have. All in all, I was impressed by every dish. I would say that the refried beans were a bit salty, but the Mexican rice more than made up for that. I took time to write this because it deserves praise and hopefully gains more business as its location is tucked away behind the KFC on Oakdale road.

Oh wow! We bought food here for the first time and Oh my God, the food brought me back to when I was a little kid growing up in the Bay Area. Authentic flavors from the Caldo De Res, the rice was perfect….the monster burrito was so big I couldn’t finish it. The chimichanga, enchiladas, chile relleno were excellently made with love from a mother….thank you for the excellence and authentic Mexican food. My families new favorite place.

Incredible food and incredible service!I I was not expecting the food to be that good. I ordered the quesa Birria tacos plate that came with 3 tacos and the dipping sauce called a Consomé. Very delicious, and well done too. The cook/chef is a keeper as of this writing. I also ordered the churro plate that came with the sweet dipping sauce and a churro pre-cut into 3 pieces. The waitress was quick and kind with our orders, and she was always making sure that my group was satisfied. I also ordered the Jamaica (hibiscus) drink, well balanced ratio of water, hibiscus, and sugar. Thank you! I’m definitely returning again!

Everything was extra delicious. Had the giant burrito with pork and it was excellent. Partner had chili relleno done perfectly. Even their dips - beans, cabbage and salsa were so good we asked for more. Family owned so try it out!

While at Dunkin with a friend we wanted to find a place to eat. I randomly searched around the area and decided to stop by in this restaurant. It wasn’t busy (which honestly was great for me). You seat yourself upon entering. We were given chips with salsa, a bean dip, and cabbage dip. My friend ended up getting the carnitas plate with flour tortillas, I got my son an order of fries, and I got myself the chicken in a delicious tomatillo salsa with corn tortillas. Everything was delicious. I’ll definitely come back one day and next time include a photo of the dish I got.

Home style mexican cooking with no lard! For me that's very good, because I am vegan! So I definitely recommend Lupitas restaurant.

I decided to give this place a try i was craving some chile colorado , so dissapointed it had zero flavor the meat was too dry it wasnt even beef stew like others make it , the chile was too light and watery no flavor , the rice had no flavor either , the tortillas were not homemade , i didnt even get a lime to at least add some flavor on the meat , ive ordered this at crowslanding and its way better than this place , based on the pictures reviews it looked like a good place but its not , the only thing i liked was the bean dip they give you , thats the only thing i enjoyed eating , i wont be comming back

Great staff and food. I order the Chile Verde and it hit the spot. Not overly greasy and just enough to fill me up.

This family run restaurant is the best and it had been a while since I treated myself to their magnificent shrimp cocktail. I won't wait so long again, now that I'm back in the area and realized their prices are still affordable. Yum!

Kid-friendliness: Tables and booths, large dining for families or private for couples/friends.
