Felt like eating in an old cafeteria.

I was driving from out of town and decided to stop at Mimi’s Café in the city of Modesto. The food was great and so was the atmosphere of the restaurant. However, I do have something negative to say that I think should be brought up to the tension of management. I sat in the bar area. I noticed one of the servers had her hair on her shoulders. I honestly don’t think that it’s OK when you’re working and a food environment. Hair should always be picked up for sanitary reasons. It could easily fall on the food. Other than that, my experience was good.

Ordered 1/2 chicken and called potatoes. Chicken was large and had been cooked for a while. Skin was tasty. Meat was drying. The potatoes were inedible. I'd never seen scalloped potatoes like that before...like layers in a lasanga...a massive lump. Tasted bad. I asked for fries instead, and the waitress obliged immediately with fresh cooked ones.

Mimi’s Café in Modesto turned out to be a pleasant dining option, especially when other nearby restaurants were packed and had long wait times. Located in a convenient area with ample parking, it’s a solid choice when you're looking for a sit-down meal without the hassle of waiting too long to be seated.

When we arrived, we were seated right away, which was a big plus considering how busy the area can get. Unfortunately, while we were shown to our table quickly, it did take some time before our server came by to greet us or take our drink orders. This initial delay was a bit disappointing, as we were left feeling a little overlooked at the start. That said, once the service picked up, things improved.

As for the food, I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the salmon, and it was excellent. The fish was cooked just right—moist and flaky—and the sauce that accompanied it was truly delicious, adding depth and richness to the dish without overpowering it. The presentation was also impressive; it arrived beautifully plated, and it was clear some care had gone into the preparation. My dish definitely stood out, and a few members of our dinner party even expressed a little envy over my choice!

Overall, while the service could have been a bit more attentive early on, the food and ambiance made up for it. Mimi’s Café is a reliable, comfortable option in Modesto for a satisfying meal.

We had Thanksgiving breakfast here, and we had a lovely time. The food was so good my 2 year actually ate all his food! And the service was amazing! Such nice people work here! :)

Pleasant environment. Our waitress was very attentive. We only stopped for a pastry and a soda. We ordered a blueberry muffin and a carrot cake muffin. I was expecting a bakery with quality pastries. Our muffins looked and tasted like a grocery store muffins. I was disappointed.

Came here second time,we ordered kids cheeseburger and chicken chabata with corn chowder soup and also had jambalaya with pasta. Took a little longer then we thought, but all of our food came hot and great taste. Nice place I wish it was a little more cleaner, but definitely will come again and do recommend trying it out.

I've been ordering fish and chips at mimis for 15 years. This was absolutely the worst I've ever had.

Love Mimi’s. They have seasonal pancakes and muffins right now. I did the pumpkin spice pancakes and had part of the pumpkin muffin. The pancakes are thick and you get four. But the star of the show was the pumpkin muffin. Awesome.

The turkey dinner is great! My husband and I get it nearly every time we come. Leah is a great waitress. She is very bubbly, helpful and attentive.
