I was driving from out of town and decided to stop at Mimi’s Café in the city of Modesto. The food was great and so was the atmosphere of the restaurant. However, I do have something negative to say that I think should be brought up to the tension of management. I sat in the bar area. I noticed one of the servers had her hair on her shoulders. I honestly don’t think that it’s OK when you’re working and a food environment. Hair should always be picked up for sanitary reasons....
Ordered 1/2 chicken and called potatoes. Chicken was large and had been cooked for a while. Skin was tasty. Meat was drying. The potatoes were inedible. I'd never seen scalloped potatoes like that before...like layers in a lasanga...a massive lump. Tasted bad. I asked for fries instead, and the waitress obliged immediately with fresh cooked ones.
Mimi’s Café in Modesto turned out to be a pleasant dining option, especially when other nearby restaurants were packed and had long wait times. Located in a convenient area with ample parking, it’s a solid choice when you're looking for a sit-down meal without the hassle of waiting too long to be seated.
