I went to dinner with my parents and Normally we love Black Bear Diner. We were Iooking for comfort food and we were very disappointed. It came out cold, I mean super cold in the middle. Obvious that none of it was made there, just heated up in the microwave. Oh, I take that back. My Dad had fish and chips and he said that was good and cooked all the way through. That is where the one star was earned for the food. Service and atmosphere were good.

It was freezing inside, the service was amazing very quiet loved the vibes it was giving, but the food was not good, eggs were runny, corned beef and hash was dry and flavorless, the bacon was undercooked and the pancakes tasted like they were cooked with dirty water. The iced tea didn't even have any tea flavor ended up just drinking water. Waste of our money and time.

3 tries to get my beer order, cold small portion of eggs and half the cold ham I was served last time and just ok service. Third time I’ve been there and third time my order was wrong. Never again.

Food was nothing special - service so so and not for the first time. Not even busy and it takes them forever to show up with a menu. Very few customers and lots of dirty tables and lots of staff doing who knows what. My food finally came and two minutes later they sit a lady at a table next to me with a dog that had not had a bath in some time-revolting. I think the law says the animal has to be on the floor, not sitting in people's laps.
The bacon was generous...but zero flavor. I don't know how it's cooked, but it's not very good.

Black bear diner is a favorite of my family. We've always been there during the week and the service is fast and friendly. And the food has been great. But I tried the bottomless fish fry on Friday and it was just okay. The hushpuppies were dry and tasted like onion. The fish filets were huge and really good but the fries weren't crispy. Coleslaw was good. If you're hungry and want all you can eat fried fish, get it. Otherwise choose anything else for really good food.
