I enjoyed this place for Monday night NFL game. Smithwicks beer was really exceptional for a well rounded beer. It has a leading full flavor with very slight hoppy finish. Nothing at all like IPA hops just enough to know it’s a beer. Fish and chips were ok. I don’t like the heavy batter. They are big pieces but 50-60% batter. It is cod so I liked it after leaving behind a lot of fried batter. It does have good flavor so I did leave some batter on it. Still there was a lot...
Had a great time visiting in Modesto, (we were from Ripon before we left for Arizona). The two piece Fish & Chips was a bit pricey, lol, so decided to have the 3 piece [see menu]. Great service and lots of tap handles on the ceiling!
Now this place has been a staple of good fish and chips as well as other food here for many years and is noted for their establishment. This is another fine establishment missed is moving out of state approx 7 years ago. Again come here and support a local ran business as the money spent here turns over 7 times in the local economy and is noted for their shipped out of state to the chains of stores.
