First time at the Sushi Garden in Modesto. I didn't know it was there, it's tucked into the corner of the shopping center. Just down from the Veterans Center is where you find Sushi Garden.
We started with the grilled, spicy edemama which were very tasty. The Big Roll was on the lunch special. I was feeling kinda hungry and ordered it. The description is correct it's big and loaded with fresh fish. I started picking the salmon off of the top and eating it before digging into the roll. I added tempura jalapeños to my order to top off my tasty roll. We will definitely be back to try their other rolls.

This place has quickly turned into my favorite sushi spot in modesto. Reasonably priced, good quality, the service is very attentive and i don't feel out of place if I dont show up all dressed up.

Their wait time for a call in order was ridiculous. I was promised my order in 25-30 minutes and arrived on time to pick up my order after 25 minutes from the time I called. I waited an additional 30 minutes for my order once I arrived. This is the last time we give them our business and I waited patiently. The new ownership provides such slow service. No apology for the long wait was given. By the time I got home, which was less than five minutes away, the tempura wasn’t warm and was soggy. I suspect it was made first and sat while our sushi order took so long to make. What a disappointing experience! We won’t be back.
