First time in, cute and welcoming all the way from across the street. Parking could probably be tricky but I got VIP street parking, they were closing soon so maybe that’s why. Friendly personnel, got the iced tea - hibiscus rose, totally recommend. They offered syrups but I love mine without. We were able to converse and it was great having the sun peaking in through the window - especially in this foggy weather! Saw they had a vegan bowl but didn’t get food this time. They also have a huge social calendar and area to drop off flyers, highly recommend for the social aspect too! I’ll have to come back in the evening! Updated from previous review on 2025-12-17
Came just to get a coffee and saw the vegan breakfast bowl and had to try it. Delicious. Worth your time.

While attending the Poetry for a Purpose fundraiser for The HAVEN, this Iowa born girl had a I had a Midwest mocha and found it very tasty. I paired a white chocolate caramel cookie too, will save over half of for tomorrow's treat- a two-fer!. That was the cookie I didn't know I was looking for.
The fundraiser was well organized, cozy, and the poets, spoken word artists, and hosts were awesome! It was the first time going to a poetry performance and I loved it! Sam the Ninja poet and Queen Bean owner, Victoria Popoff- Ardis the Studio V Pilates owner/fundraiser director HAVEN board member, Mae survivor whisperer, and Lady K the poet with passion created a night to remember for all of us.

Atmosphere is good. Cashier with piercing is rude, making drinks lazily, giving rude looks. Matcha is bad quality, Food is alright.

I visited this cafe after hearing good things from friends, and my mom who also knows the new owners. I was excited to try it, especially since it's considered a hidden gem in Modesto. Note that parking downtown can be difficult.
The place has a cozy ambiance as it's in a vintage house, with plenty of seating inside and out. When I walked in, a customer was chatting with the cashier for a while, and I wasn't sure when it was my turn, until the customer stepped back though they kept chatting. There wasn't a warm welcome or much customer service to start, but I let it go. I told the cashier it was my first time and asked about any fall drinks I saw on their Instagram, but she seemed unsure and a bit confused the entire transaction.
I ordered an iced chai with pumpkin spice cold foam (even though I don't usually like chai) and enjoyed it as it wasn't too sweet or strong. I also got the breakfast bowl with sausage. It was good, very cheesy which I love.
After working for a couple of hours, I placed a to-go order for my boyfriend and me (two drinks and two sandwiches). My order ended up taking over 20 minutes. When the cook handed me the sandwiches in an open box, I asked another worker for a bag so l could carry-out. I saw her go back to the cook, who visibly rolled her eyes and sighed. As someone who also works in food service, I felt bad and apologized for not saying it was takeout when ordering--but they never asked either.
Honestly, after this visit, I'm not sure l'd come back on my own. While the drinks were good, the service was underwhelming, and I felt uncomfortable at times, especially when I noticed some older caucasian customers staring at me (a POC woman alone) while I was doing my work. Though that seems to be a common experience living in the Central Valley, that's not at the fault of the business if that is their usual crowd. Overall, it was just an okay experience, and l'o have to consider coming back... I don't think I would alone.

I went there the other day and bought a coffee and sandwich, although the sandwich was very good, I had to put my glasses on to see if there was lunch meat. The meat was VERY skimpy but like I said, it was still very good.

Great selection of coffee drinks with plant based milk options. They have a fully vegan breakfast bowl on the menu which will be on my checklist if I’m back here! Live music and a great place to hang on the weekends.
First time visiting and having a delicious danish with a latte. Excellent place and beautiful atmosphere. Definitely coming back!!
