This quiet but homey sushi spot needs more attraction. The food quality is superb in all of Modesto, the swiftness of staff to serve is amazing, and the environment is quiet while you enjoy a delicious meal. Having tried Okinawa sushi and steakhouse this one takes the cake. As I hold that place dear, I will be coming more often to Umi as their deliverance is a 10/10.

This place has always been a good spot for sushi. I came in today and took a take out order of a bento box. There was an item that was accidentally missed so I went back and they were so polite to add california rolls with the item that I missed. The service is amazing and the owner and staff are so polite. I recommend the food and the service, they make sure to provide a good experience.
My partner and I go here at least once a month. Amazing food and service for a great price. And 2 dollar sake bombs, can't go wrong.

Been going to Umi Sushi for a long time now. I absolutely love the sushi here. Every roll tastes so fresh. Even the bento boxes are delicious. The fish quality is chef's kiss. Customer service is incredible! Everyone is super friendly, from servers, sushi cooks to owner. Umi Sushi is 10x better than Fumi Sushi. Hands down 5/5 stars. Highly recommend!

I highly recommend Mon-thursday lunch specials for specialty rolls. It's a great price point to try different rolls that you may not otherwise try. The 101, blue ocean, and Mrs. Kim is a few of the favorites to try. I recommend some classics like the CA and Rainbow roll. The appetizers are all really delicious. The favorites are the gyoza and the soft shell crab. I love the green tea. The bento boxes are a must try too.
The staff are always friendly and attend to patrons efficiently. The restaurant is always clean and there's never long waits for seating.
