Walked there in the rain because says open till 7pm was closed by 6pm
Food choices for lunch were varied and excellent. I had the ham and brie with fig and my friend had the chopped Cobb salad which also looked delicious. There was plenty of room for seating and the noise level in the room was perfect for talking with someone I hadn't seen in a long time. I'm eager for the new building to be completed. This will be 'the place' to go downtown!
Not much was going at Greens on when we pulled off the 99 to get some dinner in Modesto. Dinner was very good and there were a couple of good wine choices. The apple crisp dessert served in a squat mason jar needs some rethinking. The 'crisp' was mushy and the apples were crunchy. Service was outstanding.
Went here w/another couple for Valentine's Day-very disappointing! Food was not good! The other couple ordered a filet that was brought to our table-they had to send it back, it was over cooked & lacked any flavor whT-so-ever! They did let them re-order w/no hassles! The desert choices were limited, we had to clear our own table... I would not go back.
I was looking for a spot I could meet a friend with a new baby and this was an excellent choice. We were seated immediately and quickly attended to. Lunch was filling and well priced. The place looks great! I can't wait to go back in the evening for a light dinner.
If you are looking for a place for brunch, they have a very limited menu and I don't recommend you eat the food. Although the service was friendly and the atmosphere was of excellent taste, both myself and my guest fell ill after food consumption which leads me to believe they may have a cleanliness issue. You may be better off stopping by in the evening or after work for a get-together since it appears they have a full bar with much to offer.
The décor is very good. Cocktails were served very well. The CesarSalad came with cold chicken. There are no dinner salads here. The filet arrived on a cold dish and well done and lukewarm as this was ordered medium rare. The Chicken entrée arrived with an apricot pit on it and was dry, cold and inedible. Had my wife bit into this she would have lost her front teeth. It took about 70 minutes for this not so good meal to arrive. Not to mention the cold tomato soup that Chef Boyardee would have bested. The waiter took both entrees off and the soup from the bill. If no changes will be made it closes. We left hungry. They offered nothing to every have us come back here.
We were very impressed with all of the dishes we ordered. Tasted very fresh and loved that it was local and organic. We are very selective of where we can and will eat. It's nice to have another fine dining restaurant to add to our rotation. Would be nice if the wine list included more than just Gallo products and adding some crystal stemware for those bringing in a good bottle of wine would be another suggestion. We are looking forward to another visit and some great food!
