I ordered 4 dozen filled cupcakes for a party recently and made a simple modification by requesting colorful icing to match the theme of the party I ordered them for. Not only was my order incorrect, I had paid for them in advance and given a 20% tip. I asked to modify the tip since the order was wrong and was DENIED. I asked for a $14 complimentary item instead to make it right and was also denied. I’ve been waiting for the owner to call me and have heard nothing. I’m about to file a chargeback if I don’t hear back. My advice is do not pay in advance or tip unless your order is correct. I paid $180 plus a $35 tip for 48 cupcakes that didn’t have the toppings that are INCLUDED, and my guests didn’t even like the icing. The indoor decorations are neat. The bakery is good. There many choices for coffee and bakery. We ordered a caramel macchiato and a pumpkin spice. The caramel macchiato tasted good but the pumpkin spice tasted overly spiced with light coffee.
The ladies at the registers provided great service with plenty of seats to sit indoor or outdoor.
There are plenty of parking spots.

The bakery food is fabulous but very expensive, otherwise I would give it 5 stars. They have some gluten free and some sugar free bakery items. I recently fell in love with their pineapple cheesecake pastry. They also have a deli and cafe but I've only had their quiche. There are tables indoors and out.

Store is clean and nice, staffs are friendly.
Cake is terrible for the price. Frosting is extremely sweet for my taste. The edible image didn't even cover the entire face of the cake (photo). It didn't even get smoothed out.
Way too expensive for mediocre quality. You can get the same thing at Walmart for less than half the price. Won't be coming back here for cake.
Very disappointed 😔.

This place is a shadow of its former self. Every change of ownership comes with the new owner’s touch—which seems to be poor service and high prices. This time I left without making a purchase after waiting 7 minutes without even being acknowledged by anyone.

Ordered a custom cake for my sons birthday, he is a huge Dexter fan so I tried to look for a bakery that can provide this for my son. I told them my ideas and sent them the picture and wow it came out so good!! My son loved it, it was just perfect.

We live in Las Vegas and needed something special for a very important client in Modesto. We came across Village Baking Company & Cafe and are so glad we did. Maria and Gabby were amazing super friendly, professional, and made the whole process easy.

Even though we were ordering over the phone and coordinating a pickup through our client’s partner, everything was handled smoothly and on time. The execution was flawless, and our client was thrilled with the birthday surprise.

Really appreciate the attention to detail and great service. Would absolutely use them again!

Had a huge order for a birthday cake. Prepaid. Picked up the cake without visualizing the cake prior to leaving. Once I got to the venue and took out the cake, the decoration on the cake very minimal, incomplete and no Happy Birthday..... written on it. Taste of the cake was good. Just very dissatisfied with the bakery.

Pretty meh of a place, thought it was going to be a lot nicer than I expected. They sell the regular stuff you can find anywhere, it’s not really nice in there, kind of outdated and the lady at the counter was rude and I didn’t tip because of it. Lol. Go downtown for your baked goods, they have the cutest baked goods with interesting flavors like cardamom buns;)
