We came back to this place for a second time. The food is great. This time I decided to try the plate with two fried tamales and chilaquiles. For the tamales you can pick de puerco “pork” or de elote “corn.” Both were good. I asked for a cafe de la olla late. Iced is $8 and hot is $6 which I personally think is overpriced. If you ask for regular cafe de la olla it’s free refill. Maybe I’ll stick to that next time. Overall it was a great experience. Will come again even though the prices are almost to the edge of being overpriced but nowadays not sure it’s the economy or this place has been like this.

This cozy café has such a welcoming feel. Their café de olla is rich and perfectly spiced, and the chilaquiles are incredible. The interior is colorful and warm, perfect for a relaxed brunch. The service is friendly and efficient. One of my favorite spots in Monrovia for breakfast.

Experience was ok 👍
Food and drinks good/ok but cakes not good at all. In my opinion Porto’s cakes are way better and cheaper! Just my opinion!.
If it helps anyone!

Good spot to scratch the brunch craving. This place gets packed, so try to get on the Yelp waitlist to minimize the wait time.

We decided to get our usual breakfast favorite, waffles and French toast, with some coffee. We got an iced cafe de olla ($5.95), churro waffle ($13.95), berry crispy French toast ($17.75), and a hot cafe de olla ($4.95).

It was disappointing to discover that the regular hot cafe de olla comes with refills, but the iced cafe de olla does not, especially with the iced version costing a dollar more. The cafe de olla tastes great so get the hot version for the unlimited refills.

Both sweet dishes were yummy, and it worked out that we ordered the more expensive French toast plate because that also came with two eggs, two slices of your choice of meat (bacon, sausage, turkey sausage, or ham), and your choice of hash browns, home fries, or fruit. Having something savory with our order helped balance all the sugary stuff we were consuming.

Parking in Old Town Monrovia is pretty easy. Look for street parking or any spot in the nearby parking lots.

Met up with a friend here for breakfast to catch up, and I can see why Cafe Ole is such a local favorite! The place has a warm, friendly vibe, and the staff greet you with genuine smiles — a great way to start the day.

The menu leans toward American-Mexican breakfast dishes, and everything looked so good it was hard to choose. I went with the All-in-One Burrito, while my wife ordered the Omelette Beef Fajitas. Both were packed with flavor — hearty, authentic, and freshly made. You can really taste the care that goes into each dish.

Parking is street-side since it’s in Old Town Monrovia, but it’s worth the stroll. Definitely a great spot for breakfast or brunch and catching up with friends. We’ll be back!
