“Kevin I was so hungry when I got into a restaurant I didn't even take pictures of the food to post on the review. Darn it but I truly enjoyed our experience. I will most definitely come back I had the chicken sandwich with fries and barbecue sauce it's quite delicious. Also like the words that you have on the wall one of them says hard house is not yesterday's burgers and Fries joints that's because it's instead of meat base it's plant-based rather than being about everyone it's anyone's for everyone. Yeah I really enjoyed it I always judge a restaurant of how clean the bathroom is bathroom is spectacularly clean I think you need a little bit more workers up here because the line got real long and the two workers you got working couldn't keep upVegetarian options: Everything on the menu is vegetarian”

“Thai Thyme is one of the best, if not he best Thai Food I’ve ever tried. Pad Thai is wonderful. Entres are perfect and soups are made with the best veggies and broth ever. We love it here. Cannot recommend it more ? We got mango sticky rice for dessert and came in a heart shape. Worth driving to Monrovia and experiencing these amazing plates. Plus service is wonderful. Very attentive and graceful. Please enjoy it for yourself.”

“The bulgogi pizza was phenomenal as well as the boneless wings with the k medium sauce. We will definitely be back! The staff was friendly and attentive and the pricing was fair.”

“The Bento Box for Lunch was huge! Be prepared with an appetite! Sushi roll was good but not amazing...got the spicy tuna roll with the box and it's was bland. But the rest of food was great! Service was really good and attentive but not in your face or anything. I would definitely go back!”

“Staff that cares! Great place. Wonderful food. Seems lately customer service is a thing of the past. NOT here. The staff if Friendly, they accommodate seating requests if possible. I get cold , so not sitting outside or by the door makes for a better dining experience.They do keep the door open for outside diners, which can be chilly for those on the inside.They are very knowledgeable in wine selection and know how to pair well with the entrées.One super bonus, lots of gluten free selections!!!Dietary restrictions: They offer many tasty gluten and vegetarian options. I'm neither, but my sister is gluten sensitive, and this was a fav of hers.”

“the staff inside were soo nice and the food is simple and healthy but delicious! got the pesto sandwich with chicken and a caesar salad and it was great. was also out really quick. oh, and i got their blueberry lemonade and it was actually so good. 10/10”

“Best beers in Monrovia! Looks small when you first walk in, but it has a huge outdoor space in the back! Seems like they frequently host bands, food vendors, and pop ups. Definitely try their Mexican Lager and Icelandic White Ale! Great vibes, bartenders are very nice and knowledgeable too!”

“The place have been on my tagged list to try and I finally dropped in for lunch with my aunt and stuffed ourselves silly with yummy food & fabulous drinks. HIGHLY recommend!FOOD: They have reasonable lunch specials available from which we ordered the chicken enchiladas & al pastor street taco. Both were great & very tasty. I also had a craving for chilaquiles so we ordered that off the regular menu and my cravings were very well satisfied. We forgot to order the highly recommended shrimp empanadas but that’s a perfect excuse for us to go back soon!DRINKS: I mean they are truly one of the highlights of our meal. The signature “La Sexy Michelada” was one of the best I’ve had. It literally had a whole half of a mango seasoned with chamoy & tajin balanced on a tamarind candy stick in a large glass mug liberally rimmed with chamoy & tajin. The michelada itself was perfectly made IMHO. My aunt ordered the Margarita Flight and she thought every single one was delicious & unique. Her personal fave was the cucumber margarita & mine was the mango margarita.”

“Tucked in Downtown Monrovia, this small restaurant has really fresh sushi! We visited on a recent Saturday for lunch. Inside has maybe 3-4 seats at the sushi bar, 3 small tables, and a couple tables outdoors were its pet friendly. I got the salmon don and it was fresh and delicious. It comes with miso soup and the best tasting salad dressing I've ever had. We also shared the lime roll, scallops sushi, ono sushi, albacore sushi and miso cod. The roll was only okay, and I definitely preferred the sushi. The miso cod was tender and soft, I felt very healthy eating all the delicious fish. Our waiter was super friendly and nice, it made for a great lunch experience!”

“Love that this place is quality $$ late night and attentive. Fish is sold high quality and market values for sushi; great for special occasions. Our servers offered wonderful recommendations -- get the Caterpillar ? Roll and Omakasi Sashimi (decadent and worth sharing for 2 if you're not as hungry as I was)! We also got kurasawa (sake) and soft shell crab ? to start! The sauce for the crab was flavorful.Vegetarian options: The Green Village (or something along those lines) veggie roll was delicious. Great tempura prep and nice texture.”

“3.25.24 After picking up my daughter from school today, I decided to treat us out to dinner instead of cooking. I tend not to cook the days she's not with me, and lately...I had been avoiding cooking. I don't know why, but lately I had been led to Old Town Monrovia quite often. Very weird! Anyway, before I start my review, I would like to give a shout-out to my lovely Yelp friend, *drum rolls* ....dum....dum...dum...tak. Ladies and gentlemen please give a round of applause to KATHERINE for her awesome Yelp review that led me to The State tonight. The State was located on the corner of Myrtle and Lemon, actually it was near the corner. Parking: There were plenty of parking spaces around, but you can find more parking spaces on a nearby parking lot (free), turning right on Lemon (going East) if you're heading South on Myrtle. The parking lot was located across from the Fire Station. The posted sign on the parking lot stated a 3-hour parking from 8am-5pm Tips: Happy Hour, M-Fr 11am-6pm. I missed the Happy Hour today. I got there at 6:30PM Brunch: SAT, SUN: 10AM-3PM Specials: Monday-Mules $6 Tuesday-Margaritas $6, Tacos $2.5 Wednesday-Old Fashioned $8, Toki Highball $6 Thursday- All Wine by The Glass 1/2 off What were ordered My daughter ordered the following: -Pasta Primavera $20 (She enjoyed it and finished her plate. I tried it and it was tasty to me.) -Creme Brûlée $10 (Delcious) I ordered -New York Steak Medium Rate $38. It came with tenderstem broccoli and mash potatoes. (It was juicy and tender. My daughter tried it and she liked the steak) -Wedge Salad $11 (I liked it. My daughter didn't. She was more of a caesar salad fan) -Avocado Wraps $12, came with 3 wraps (I liked it. My daughter didn't try because she didn't like avocados) -Short Rib Tacos $12, came with 3 tacos (I do not recommend. For me the flavor of the meat was not good. My daughter said it was too spicy and she didn't like it. She was attacking me for not telling her it was spicy, making it sounded like I did that on purpose. I didn't even know they had chopped jalapeños in it) Total after tax was $113.56, with 20%ish tip $136.56 Overall the food was good, service was great, and I enjoyed the atmosphere. Talking of which, we saw ambulance and firefighters activity during dinner. Of course I had to snap a pic to share with you all. Oh the place was very busy, no empty table inside. We were offered to sit at the bar or outside (they thought my daughter was 21 or something haha). I chose to sit outside and thankfully they had heating lamps right above us...it was very warm. One minor issue: When my daughter and I first arrived at The State and waited at the hostess lectern to be seated. The waitress and waiter were busy in the back by the bar area cleaning glasses. The waiter decided to wave at me to come to the bar, instead of coming to the front to the hostess stand to seat us. I was thinking to myself "What the heck was that? Uhhh no. You come to me". He kept waving at me trying to get my attention and I ignored. I stayed put until one of them, the waitress, decided to stop what she was doing and came to us to ask us if we wanted to sit at the bar or outside. Other than that, everything else was great and we had a great time.”

“It was good. I had a grilled Chicken Sandwich came with a sell it very good. My friend had the. Fish-and-chips and the fish looked like they were nice portions. I can't tell you how much it was. Because I was treated this time. The only problem I can think of was that the menu text was so small. I couldn't read it without my reading glasses.”

“I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the fish at Kiku Sushi. I ordered their Umi Combo Dinner which consisted of 10 assorted pieces. All of the pieces were fresh and delicious. My wife ordered a 3 item bento, but found the salmon teriyaki to be a bit overcooked.Service was attentive and friendly. I would definitely go back for their sashimi.”

“Our fav Shanghai restaurant closed, and our search for a new one brings us here. The rice cakes and seaweed fish was very very good. I so enjoyed lunch w/my friend that I brought my fam back for dinner the same week. The lion's head soup and green beans were delicious. We will be back to try more dishes. This mom pop establishment has friendly service but is limited in english. I suggest to take a look at the menu prior to arrival and then point to what you want on the english menu. A must try if you looking for good Shanghai!”

“Excellent breakfast buffet with all kinds of hot options including eggs, potatoes, bacon (everyone cares about bacon). They also have a waffle maker and an omelet station. They have fresh fruits and also an a la carte breakfast menu. They were able to provide gluten-free bread for me (do not recommend for Celiacs) and almond milk for the coffee.Dinner service is acceptable. Their burgers are yummy. My husband was not impressed with salmon. Drinks are good, too.”

“Wonderful experience. I had the pick three tacos plate. I chose the brisket taco, pork Bahn Mi taco, and the beer batter fish taco. The appetizer of parmesan fries was delicious. And the PB&J Old Fashioned mixed drink was delicious. Will definitely be coming back to try more.”

“Great food, basic but attentive service. We ordered a large steak for him and vegetarian pasta for me, ordered margaritas and got away with a bill under $125, with plenty of leftovers. Atmosphere is ok, depending on the day. Sometimes a bit crowded and noisy feeling - mid scale. Children welcome. Make reservations and request a booth to minimize the noise. All in all, the food and price are well worth it. Our go to spot for Valentine's Day the last 3 years running!Vegetarian options: Vegetarian pasta options available, salad options, but pretty typical meat and seafood Italian menu.Kid-friendliness: Always kids in there when I go.”

“It is by far the most authentic shanghai food I’ve had here.I definitely recommend getting the Shanghai fried rice cake, it is so worth it and so good.The people working here is also very nice, reminds me of shanghai neighbors :)I also ordered a shanghai style rib, along with the dishes shown in the image. “I absolutely love Monrovia Pizza Co. I've been coming here since high school. I love the people who work here they're always so welcoming and friendly. Their food is so good for such a good price too and they NEVER are stingey when it comes to toppings on your pizza! I love their pasta too i always get their spaghetti and meatballs hands down my favorite. Oscar helped us out today and he was so friendly and helpful and we'll be back here 1000%.”

“Went for dinner last night. Food was delicious. Service was as well. We saw a table of miserable people complaining about everything and felt so bad for the server that we tipped her extra. Do better people. If you’re already miserable before you walk through the door, then just keep in ”

“The most authentic Taiwanese cuisine in the SGV. Very friendly staff here. Highly recommend making a reservation as it gets busy fast, especially during the weekends. We came here for a birthday celebration and ordered lots of traditional dishes. It used to be a bakery/deli so the decor is very simple. They use rattan chairs! Take advantage of the free beer offer (dine in only) with every $30 purchase. If you don't drink beer, you can ask for a soda instead.”

“Incredibly delicious. The entire food was amazing. Just enough spice and taste. The manager Junior served us and he was fantastic. Very sociable and made sure we were ok. We went on a Monday night during happy hour, the place wasn’t busy.”

“Excellent dinner and great deal on Wednesday night's steak and lobster. I also had a lemon drop martini which was excellent. The manager was very welcoming. Is Marvin the bartender made excellent drinks. I am definitely going back!”
