“When it gets busy, the employees sometimes have a hard time prioritizing people who have ordered online and have prepaid to pick up their order and those who come in to order and stand in line. They forget it takes seconds to give the person who ordered online their meal for pickup instead of having them wait 5 min or more while those in line are being served.“

“Most of so called Taiwanese restaurants are for snack food or street food. It’s so hard to find Taiwanese banquet cuisine, so every time we are in LA, we stop by here. This spot is the closest to the authentic Taiwanese food we can find within in California and Nevada.
Comparing to Cantonese food or Sichuan food, Taiwanese cuisine is on the light and healthy side, not oily or salty.

Below are some must orders:

Kidney and chicken testicle in sesame oil broth. They make the freshest kidney and not overcooked!

Chicken roll. They homemade it on site, super juicy and delicious.

COD with chili paste. Very flavor and really juicy fish.

Eel sticky rice. We added salted duck yolk which enhanced the flavor and presentation.

Intestines. They do not have the authentic vinaigrette flavor but still good.

I have been craving for the slow braised trotter with bamboo (bamboo is actually the highlight of this dish), so I pre-ordered it. It’s a big portion for 10 people.

Taro dessert. Not too sweet and not greasy but just a perfect combo for the dessert.

It’s very spacious inside, nice and clean. Easy and pretty of parking in the lot as well.“

The texture is unbelievably tender and smooth, not a bit rubbery. You can tell it’s made with care. The chicken skin has a lovely, subtle gelatinous quality, and when you pair it with the fragrant rice and the incredible house-made chili and ginger scallion sauces… it’s just perfection. Don’t sleep on their other dishes, either. The potato noodles come in a massive, steaming clay pot with a soup base that’s both spicy and deeply flavorful. BUT if you're looking for some delicious mouth watering dumplings cooked in various forms then you're at the CORRECT place. I brought my mom here and we tried the pork chive regular dumplings, the pan fried beef and cumin dumplings and the regular fried rice. All of it was delicious. Also they give you a complimentary bowl of egg drop corn soup. NOT a small bowl but a good size portion, it was GOOOOOD. “I had to update my review because this place just got a serious glow-up! They finally got rid of those old picnic-style checker tablecloths, and the dining room looks so much more upscale and sleek now.

We came in for dinner with a group and ordered one of their set menus for 6 people. It's honestly an incredible deal, it comes with a whole Peking duck and a bunch of great dishes, including the shrimp with vermicelli, beef in soup, broccoli, salad, sweet and sour pork ribs, and a 6-item appetizer platter. The food tasted fantastic, though the portion sizes for the set felt a little light for 6 fully grown adults. To make sure everyone was full, we added an order of their famous braised noodles with pork ribs, which absolutely hit the spot.

The service was highly impressive and completely matches the new elevated vibe of the restaurant. We had such a great experience that we’re actually coming back again next week for a birthday celebration. Highly recommend checking out their new look!“

“We ordered the sauerkraut fish and the portion size was huge. It was more than enough for two people, and we still had a lot of leftovers to take home. The flavor was really good--savory, tangy, and comforting without being overwhelming.

“this definitely deserves the michelin recommendation. every piece of meat was so tender and every dish was just so flavorful. i really liked the braised beef noodles. it had a cilantro taste and the bok choy was so soft. my family really liked the texture of all of the noodles - especially the fried ones. the scallion pancakes were very good and the food came very quickly. the staff are very nice and the water hits hard 😁. definitely come here“

“I like this place. $13.99 per pound of food. You get to choose all your toppings. I recommend going heavy on the meats and light on the carbohydrates. That’ll be the best bang for the buck. They also have frog meat if that’s your lingo. I tried their beef bone broth and I like it a lot. I’d come back again.

Just a heads up. If you can’t eat mild this place won’t be for you. They can’t alter the broth. The only option is the tomato broth which is no spicy.“

My wife and i came at 9:30 for a later dinner. We got the braised pork and the beef bowl with the pepper sauce. We both thought that the flavor and portion were great. The pork was so tender and had just the right amount of fat the meat ratio. The beef bowl with pepper sauce was good i did ask for chili oil yo add some spice. The owner did tell me if you ask for spice ahead of time he can do mild medium and high depending on your tolerance.

Service was quick and very nice. As soon as we sat down they brought us an extra menu and two glasses of cold water. Then they brought us some free watermelon before i food came out. Food did not take long which was a plus but of course it was late so this service will depend on the time of day so I may come for lunch to provide a comparable experience.

Atmosphere was good and spacious. I will say the ac was not working but they were kind enough to place the fan to us.

I would recommend this place for a good quick and simple meal i will be back to try more from the menu and see if there is any other dishes to try.“

“I googled "best Chinese in LA" and then this popped up as the #1 place. So we drove - and had a very good meal. However, if you expect the classic Chinese dishes, you will be disappointed. This is Shezuan, "a different animal". So no rice, no sweet-and-sour-this-and-that. So be prepared for very spicy Szechuan food. Noodles. No rice. Try the dumplings, they were delicious. We ordered mild (1 out of 5 spice degrees) and we were burning inside (we had two separate orders of dumplings - but spice grade 1. There is no consistency, so be careful). So if spicy is what you are "in" for, you'll love it. The ambiance is sort of authentic ;-) - the sign on how to use the toilet (outside the restaurant in the alley) says more than words. But then, it was $100 all-in for the four of us only. My advice: I could barely understand the service language. Better check the menu before you go. As we were first-timers, I wanted to share three starters and three mains among the four of us and leave it up to the waitress to make us explore - she did not understand. I asked if they served beer. The answer was "noodles or dumplings". :-)“

“Tried Vege Valley Restaurant recently and honestly it was a good surprise. I’m not even strictly vegetarian but the food was really flavorful and fresh. Ordered noodles and a veggie dish both were well cooked and not too oily, which I liked.
The place is simple perfect for a relaxed meal. Service was quick and staff were polite. Pricing also feels reasonable for the portion size.

The three of us ordered the Cold Pot Sea Bass, Black Fish Fillet, Spicy Jelly Salad, and cold jelly salad. The portions were really generous—we actually had quite a bit left to take home. The Cold Pot Sea Bass was our main dish, with big, tender pieces of fish that were packed with flavor. We went with the medium spicy mala option since we enjoy spicy food, and the heat was just right for us—fragrant, spicy, and not too overwhelming.

The Black Fish Fillet was also so good with rice. The sauerkraut and all the ingredients in the broth were flavorful, and even the tofu was something I kept going back for . The Spicy cold Jelly Salad had fragrant chili oil with a light numbing kick, which made it really appetizing. We honestly thought we might not have enough food, but we ended up taking a big portion home. Everything was so good with rice, especially after mixing the fish and sauce with it. If you enjoy spicy food and Sichuan flavors, this is definitely a place to keep on your list.“

Why get angry and keep screaming when customers don't understand? This business is located in LA—if an obvious communication barrier happens, staff should try to bridge it instead of continuing to yell in the same language at a confused customer. I can't believe I was treated this way. Do we now need to learn EVERY LANGUAGE ON EARTH just to get basic service?“
