I heard from the lady boss that the chef is an old hotpot master in his eighties, it’s really authentic!I even brought the soup home for cooking?? There is no one else who packs hot pot base ingredients?Great service!Totally recommend!“

“Read about this place in the paper. Bae and I are always saying things like "we should explore the culinary delights of the sgv" but are often intimidated because we don't speak Chinese and have little familiarity with the cuisine beyond the white people Chinese restaurants of our respective coasts (she east, me west). We ordered from the internet even though we were there because we had our dog with us. The noodles were extremely, extremely good, the other ingredients (beef, chicken, veggies) were pretty standard. If i was to return I just get noodles straight up, I feel like the other stuff just distracts from the main event. Bae couldn't eat hers because she comes from a place (new england) where people say stuff is too spicy because there is PEPPER in the dish. Like, the pepper you have at your house. I cooked a dish with pepper once and her mom wouldn't eat it for that reason. Also the service was good, they actually called us because they were out of something we ordered and wanted to make sure they gave us a refund or something else.Unless you are a monster two people can split one dish here, any dish. If you order more than one dish per two people left overs are a given. Also, we drove around for an hour before we got home and the food was still warm.Vegetarian options: Noodles! Tofu!Dietary restrictions: Gluten!Parking: Free lot in the shopping plaza but lots of venerable people entering and exiting so be careful. Free street parking out front.Kid-friendliness: YesWheelchair accessibility: Yes“

“2023.09.16 \First visit/Originally, I wasn’t very interested in eating noodles in LA, but Flavor Noodles changed my mind. This time I ordered fatty beef noodles in sour soup, Sichuan style fat intestine noodles, and red oil noodles. I can’t choose which one is more delicious, I like them both! Looking forward to ordering something else on my next visit that I didn't have the stomach for this time.2024.01.09\Second interview/I finally had the opportunity to visit for a second time, but today I was a bit disappointed. I ordered beef noodles with raw pepper, Sichuan-style fat intestine noodles, and red oil noodles. The Chao Shou was more delicious than the last time I had it, but the taste of both bowls of noodles was a bit bland. Last time the sausage was very full, but today it looks thin. The beef noodles with raw pepper are quite spicy. Will be willing to visit again to see if today was just an anomaly, but will order back the beef noodles in sour soup next time.Recommended: Fatty Beef Noodles in Sour Soup“

“Looking for authentic Sichuan and Cantonese cuisine? There’s a hidden gem in San Gabriel that’s worth trying. They have some really spicy dishes but if you’re like me and can’t handle too spicy, they have some wonderful non-spicy options. Check out their lunch specials!Andrea, Jessica and the rest of the staff are wonderful with customers! They are so welcoming and attentive, treating everyone like friends and making the customers feel at home. They have separate rooms available and are perfect for parties as well. I love the outdoor patio area! Now, let’s talk about the food…Everything was absolutely delicious!! Big portion sizes as well. It was enough to feed me and my 2 boys and still have some food to take home. The Smoked Duck was tender and succulent! The Lamb Chops were fall off the bone tender and so flavorful! Love the crispy texture of the Stir-Fried Noodles with Beef. You can get them soft or crispy. The Diced Beef Tenderloin was our favorite!! So juicy and perfectly cooked! Great balance of flavors! There’s a small parking lot so you may need to park on the street. At first I wasn’t sure if I was at the right place, but it was lol So, if you just follow the directions, you’ll find it.We really enjoyed our time here and would definitely come back!“

I think the experience of slurping the soup from the xiao long bao in a spoon is a experience you can’t take away and I did not feel that same experience eating the dumplings from Hui Tou Xiang. Walking in you are greeted warmly- they ask if you want rice or congee - i always pick rice and the hubs gets congee, after which you simply choose from the beautiful variety of Taiwanese and Chinese dishes. Our choices were always the 3 cup chicken, sausage, the chinese broccoli, green beans, minced pork, pork belly, fried mackarel, bamboo shoots, bean curd and the eggplant. Roti Canai fresh made that is tasty but a bit oily. Taste of Hometown fried rice noodles is light which I like. They're not big portions. We added a Kaya Toast with butter. I used to pass by it a lot and thought there were no customers - turns out it's just that their parking lot is in the back and the front lot just remains inexplicably empty and unused.Unlike the sister Ho Kee restaurants that focus mainly on the BBQ and HK style dishes, this restaurant highlights their noodle soups with a separate menu you mark up with a marker, choosing noodle type, broth type, and meats. They also have a full menu of HK style dishes, much like the other Ho Kee locations. The service is also very good. “ACCESSIBILITY/PARKING: Located in a large plaza with lots of parking, no issue at all. WAIT: Got seated right away during 12 pm lunch rush on a Friday. AMBIANCE: It is a typical comfort food restaurant with booths and large round tables for larger groups. Music was playing at a reasonable volume, and we could hear each other at the table nicely. FOOD: Black Pepper Beef Tenderloin Stir Fried Udon: This was SOOO good, the meat was incredibly tender, and the black pepper sauce really came through with the perfectly cooked noodles! Personally, udon noodles should have a chewy bite throughout while maintaining it's shape and not falling to pieces. Beef Wrap: VERY yummy and had great seasoning on the beef, with good proportions of beef to cilantro. Juicy Pork Dumplings: MUST GET, very juicy and flavorful with the perfectly julienned ginger and chili oil Corn & Egg Soup: Thick consistency with great corn flavor - if you love corn, you NEED to try! DRINKS: We got hot tea which was tasty and complemented the food nicely SERVICE: Food came out fast and was responsive when we needed something. $: VERY affordable, with tip included for the above dishes and tea it came out to $64! They accept cash/card. OVERALL: DEFINITELY coming back to try more of their menu items! I enjoyed every dish which makes me excited to try everything else. The food was extremely comforting and tasty, nothing lacked flavor, and it was so affordable, how can you not love this place?“

“Specialty Chang Fun restaurant? Count me in! Their Chang fun had such amazing texture- it was thin but had that je ne sais quoi. It almost as good as the one in Flushing, NY but they have much more varieties of flavor here. I was expecting the typical umami sauce like at dim sum places so their milder sauce took me aback. I'm guessing it's because they want the ingredients to shine, which it really did. To order:They give you a menu picture, a pen, and a scratch paper. Each menu item has a number, which you write on the scratch paper and hand to the waiter to order. Got the:1) pork & shrimp Chang fun: 9/10- Delicious and lots of ingredients - shrimp was a great texture, I only wish it was a tad bit bigger2) The fish rice noodle was amazing: 10/10- the fish was very soft and tender and just falls apart in your chopsticks. - They also seasoned the fish really well with white pepper - would get again and again3) beef stew Chang fun: 8/10- looks like their beef stew is very popular because they have many items with beef stew and I watched him scoop some from a large vat 4) egg Chang fun: 8/10- great, I mean, It's eggs in rice noodle, what else is there to say?5) chicken Chang fun: 9/10- one word: scrumptious 6) Preserved egg and pork congee: 9/10- the theme of this restaurant has been amazing texture- and this congee had exemplary texture- it was perfectly thick and had lots of ingredients - it comes with some chopped veggies and cilantro- I only wish there was more cilantro - there's white pepper on the table if you want to add any Can't wait to come back again. They get a bonus in my book for playing 90's HK films on TV, lol.“

“Took my parents here on a whim. And we actually enjoyed it! I’m sure others with the bad reviews might’ve just went on an off day or got bothered by the language barrier. But my Thai parents and I would totally go back!Service - we totally couldn’t understand each other so there was just a lot of pointing and nodding. But, they got our order correct and they were still super nice! She even pointed out the sauce bar to me so I knew to go use it. Food came out fast.Food - I would definitely go back to try different noodles and their hot pot next time for sure! The fried rice was really good even more so after adding some of their sauces. I would probably skip the Special Chaozhou Platter next time, even though it was good and love eating those, you can just buy them and fry them on your own. The beef ribs were so rich and flavorful. Added some more sauce to cut the fatty richness but the meat was so tender and really good. Beef skewers were just okay to me. Definitely needed more of the seasoning sprinkled on them. Nothing was bad in any way, again - my family and I would absolutely go back to try more items and get more beef ribs!Parking - small little free lot! We got there early so we easily found a spot and we were to enjoy our dinner before a huge rush.“
