“Found this gem on Google Maps while searching for some afternoon snacks. A little real Italian osteria run by folks from Italy. Tiramisu was on point, as was truffle suppli (fried risotto croquettes with cheese) that brought back memories of Rome. By the time I got there the pastry case was bare, but I did pick up an Italian sour cherry jam and a bottle of lemon soda, another staple during my trips to Italy. I will return for pasta & pizza. It’s little sweet place that needs to be found by more people!“

“Patty's was very communicative and responded quickly to our emails about our wedding cake. They made a cake exactly to our specifications and it tasted divine! We got the banana cake with guava filling and cream cheese frosting, and we got so many compliments on the taste. I applaud Patty's and can't wait to eat more of the leftovers :)“

“Well worth visiting this shop. You can't see it from the street, but worth the trip. It's in the same building as the UPS store. The mango pastry was very good, and the Smores latte I had was excellent. They even caramelized the whipped topping. The first sip was magical. 😁 Definitely going back.“

“I'm legally blind and I was actually there to visit my cardiologist roughly 6 minute walking distance on the other end of 1st Street. I got myself into a dilemma by buying two dozen of egg tarts which comes in two large pizza size boxes. The young lady who helped me at the store first told me they don't have such a big bag for those boxes, but she obviously considered my convenience so she went to the bag and dig out a large size shopping bag. I guess you can tell how appreciative I was even though those boxes have to go in sideway anyway... It still helped me to hold those boxes in one hand and my white cane on the other.“

“If this is not the best banh mi in all of Sgv and Oc, I don’t know of any place that can beat them. All cash by the way so come prepared. Their dac biet is the perfect sandwich and their daikon and carrots are light and bouncy with fresh jalapeno with the right amount of pate and butter. They have it down to perfection, nothing less. Had an open house and served it for homebuyers and they were blown away! Highly recommend! Cafe sua da is gold too, loved the shaved ice in the coffee and not too sweet. The ladies in the back are super sweet and you can buy the baguettes and freeze them, then 350 f for 6 mins in toaster or airfryer. Get the egg rolls, and pa te so is good too. My clients loved their vegetarian banh mi too!

Vegetarian options: Just get he vegetarian banh mi! Only vegetarian thing to get or just plain baguettes! It will be worth it!“

“I’ve been going here for 10 years. They are a small business and they nice. They always do a beautiful job with the cakes. Here is the most recent one I got. The cake flavor is also very good. I got half chocolate with banana and half vanilla with strawberries“

Their iced Chai tased mostly like cinnamon water.
Their almond croissant was decent.
All that with tip was $60 for breakfast.
I can think of MANY places where I could have had better breakfast food for that price.
Waitress and hostesses were on point with great service, so at least there’s that.“

“Butter Lab is a gem!!!! The desserts here are excellent. I ordered an assortment of crinkle cookies, Ube tres leches, pandan Basque cheesecake and a coffee. Staff was friendly and gave great recommendations. I can't wait to come back. My new fave spot in the SGV for desserts hands down!“

We got a crème brule, a carrot cake, a macaroon and two iced teas. The iced teas are made fresh and then put over ice. They were very good. My gf got a passion fruit one and I got got mint. We would definitely come again. And the workers I think are the owners but they were super nice and even asked us to try the teas before we left to make sure we were happy with them. “I needed a catering job for the entire LA County/USC ER Room medical staff and all support personnel. 150 complete box lunches and I needed them delivered to East Los Angeles by 11.30 am. This amazing staff got up at 3 am to make sure the order was there and on time. Rave reviews were emailed to me about the quality and care of the delicious care packages given to each of those important caregivers at the hospital. First rate care and preparation. They earned my business and my respect. And support our local businesses. Just like hospitals we need diners and bakeries too! Job well done Crust and Crumble! Highly recommend.“

“Absolutely worth the visit! Browned has some of the best pastries I’ve had in SGV. The puffs are light, crispy, and not overly sweet. My favorites were the Oolong tea, Salted Egg Yolk Taro, and Dark Chocolate flavors. We also loved the Rose Lychee Raspberry Croissant and the Kimchi Runny Egg Croissant，the sweet and savory combination was so unique. Everything tasted fresh and beautifully made. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to!“

Today’s pilgrimage finds me in Sierra Madre at Syndicate, a fantastic find nestled comfortably downtown on Sierra Madre Blvd. Plenty of street parking and a beautiful place to take a stroll if you don’t score a spot immediately out front. The vibe is instantly welcoming, decor is colorfully minimalist, that’s probably not a thing, but it’s the best descriptor I have. The baristas are friendly, skilled and true devotees to all things coffee, even willing to share some potential sites to visit on the next LAtte stop. The coffee itself is excellent, rich, flavorful and no hint of bitterness. I went with oat milk this time and it paired perfectly with the blend, rich creamy, delicious! I can wholeheartedly recommend a visit should you find yourself in the area, or even if your not- expand your horizons and make it a destination, it’s worth it.“
