“TK Cafe Hawaiian BBQ in uptown Monrovia provided a satisfying experience all around. It’s a small family-run counter serve operation with great Hawaiian inspired plate lunch comfort food, especially for meat lovers.The place is tucked in a corner of the Vons mall at the southwest corner of Myrtle and Foothill, so plenty of free parking. The chef and manager Ken took my order and was very friendly and helpful to recommend certain specialties on their menu.I ordered the Chicken Combo (BBQ Chicken and the crispy Katsu Chicken) and the Hawaiian BBQ Mix (BBQ Chicken, BBQ Beef, and substituted Teriyaki Chicken in place of Kalbi Beef). Both plates come with two scoops of white rice and a scoop of Mac Salad. “Very satisfied. I stopped by today after my grocery haul and I'm really happy I did. I got a small poke bowl and it was filling but light enough to watch my calories since I was able to get half greens. Everything was fresh and the gentleman who helped me was very nice. Will be stopping by here from now on to get my poke bowls.“
“Interior is small but parking is decent, and I think the food is hit or miss depending on what you order. But for the most part the fried chicken katsu is a good option; the bone in fried chicken that others seem to like was a little dry for me. There is a catering menu and seemingly they are a good option for gatherings. The owners work here and are very sweet Asian couple. They will always smile and engage in conversation with you. Top Restaurant has been in business for a long time so they are doing lots of things right!“
“Pretty cool spot that opened in the same plaza as Bonchon, Paris Baguette and Katsu Sando. This is unlike any other poke place I've had since you order via the robot and they make your food in the back. Other spots is like Chipotle style. That being said, the 'small' portion was pretty hefty but also a bit on the pricey side. Good quality fish though.“
“The food is amazing for a very reasonable price, but I think the service differs depending on who's working. The first time I came with my Latina friend and the staff person also appeared to be Latina (she was speaking Spanish to some other customers while we were there); she noticeably treated my friend preferentially and was short with me when I asked questions about the menu and how to order since it was my first time, which ended up making me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. Then when I tried to pay, my payment failed the first time so she told me to insert my card again, but she "helped" by tapping on the screen for me and selecting the highest tip for herself without giving me a choice. I told her that wasn't the tip option I wanted to select but she gave me a dirty look and told me I couldn't go back, so I just had to pay the amount she selected or risk making a big fuss. Then she didn't offer me a receipt, which I think is just bad service considering she overcharged me, but maybe it's because she didn't want me to find out her name (since the server name is usually printed on your receipt). When our food came out, my friend's meal was neatly packaged so that she could take it to go, but my poke bowl didn't have a lid on it even though I was also taking it to go, and I had to ask for one, which she also treated like I was being an inconvenience. It was a really off-putting experience.My second time here, I came back with a different friend and ordered the exact same thing because the food quality was great, it was just the service that sucked, so I figured I'd give the place a second chance. Thankfully my second time was a lot better. The server (Michelle, based on my receipt) was very sweet and I didn't experience any problems. So I will probably keep eating here in the future, but I would not like to encounter the rude staff person from my first time again.“

They have a variety of sauces that you could combine to make your own special sauce, i really recommend the sesame shoyu and miso honey for that sweet and savory taste!! “This is a hidden gem! The food is fresh to order. I've only tried the pupusas revueltas and tacos de carne asada. It's a small location but definitely worth a try. It's an interesting combination of different foods. The cooks are really sweet and the gentleman at the register is friendly. There are only about 6 tables with 4 chairs each, but if it's only you and your date it's perfect. The decor is a lot of Salvadoran art and some plates with Salvadoran currency. It's cute for a date to chat and have some good food.“
“This place is very delicious. I received the Lemon Pepper Tilapia. Prices are very reasonable. Customer Service was great! The only thing I disliked was the Sriracha provided. They had the original roster Sriracha on display but we were given the cheap Vinagre knock off.I will definitely be returning and becoming a regular.“
“I think that categorically this is "inauthentic" poke but good lord is it amazing anyways. Extremely filling, very tasty, and I love how everything besides protein is complimentary. A bit expensive for my taste, but I do come from a place with a lower cost of living. The masago is incredible.“

The service is fast and the employees are very friendly and accommodating. Since I am regular customers in this place, so by now I have my favorite dishes that I ordered frequently which are;- BBQ Mix Combo Plate; for meat lovers. “I don't live in the area but I was in the area and I was craving Poke. Very fresh and yummy! Big enough restaurant for indoor dining- however we got it to go. Fish was fresh and let me tell you they did not cheap out on the toppings, I was impressed and even gave the guy a tip for not saying "oh sorry we can't that's an additional charge." They were very friendly and clean. They also had a bunch of Hawaiian drinks to pick from, plus they serve Hawaiian ice :) going to come back for that!
