I have loved this restaurant right after it first opened, with the original owner. Since then it has changed hands and the new owner has kept up its quality remarkably. Great menu and not bad pricing. It’s a cute space in Old Town Monrovia.

We tried three different restaurants on Myrtle Ave for brunch, but all three had crazy long wait times. Choosing to walk around some and see what other optima were available we came across Cafe Mundial and decided to give them a try. They weren't busy at all, which gave us pause given how busy everywhere else was but decided to give it a go. It's a good thing they there were very few customers because one young lady was doing everything on her own - host, bartender, server, busser, and food runner. She did it all with a smile, but it was obviously a lot for one person. It was a nice Sunday afternoon, so we chose to sit outside. There are only a few tables on their small patio and about half of them, plus a couple of tables inside were occupied. The burger was a generous size and built well. The salad was nice too. The eggs, bacon and potatoes were horribly oily/greasy! This was definitely the low point of the meal. This is a descent location for brunch and hopefully they'll bring in at least one more person.

Went there this past Sunday.. birthday dinner with my wife, it used to be one of my favorite places in town... it is a restaurant with no identity... a little this a little that. Gone are the cloth napkins, server was challenged when asked menu questions... I wanted a pasta dish with some meat... he suggested andouille sausage from the appetizer menu... couldn't pronounce it.. I helped out... (he was very nice and attentive but... was in over his head) so, I settled on the bolognese with pappardelle pasta... my wife got the salmon on the same pasta... different sauce though... my sauce had everything to make a good sauce but wasn't cooked long enough, the carrots in it were crunchy... the pasta was overcooked... mushy. I left the bulk of the sauce in the bottom of my plate... oh yea... before the food came out he brought bread.. but with didn't come olive oil but hummus! Interesting because I didn't see any Mediterranean food on the menu... so my wife loved the salmon... yes the pasta was mushy, the sauce was in a pool of oil! She didn't finish that... highlight of the meal was a piece of cake... that's literally how the menu described it... we asked for more information... it was lemonchello cake... delicious! I'm so disappointed... this was always our celebration place in town since we moved in back in 99... I think we will give it another shot to see if it was a bad day.

The food was decent, and a fair price. The service was horrible!Servers were standing around while we waited for drink refills with our meal, then picked up dirty dishes afterwards.

First visit was a charm, 2nd visit charmed with a great time from dining partners and from staff. I can definitely say going to Mundial is definitely an episode out cheers. Great comrarderie whether it's a full night or not. I had the seafood Neptune and it was absolutely divine. Some I can be such a creature of habit in king days if work I might not venture out, but I am excited to try everything on the menu. Just say when the ribeye is in the special of the day please treat yourself. And on another day travel the seafood Neptune side for another treat. I do look forward to my next visit as well as seeing such a good time with fabulous from other patrons enjoy whatever they are in a treat for. Cheers and blessings to those who enjoy and have yet to have such a treat.

My burger really quite large and yummy! Prices aren't ridiculous either. I'd like try go back even if only for the French fries!

Brian the bartender has a signature old-fashioned that's to die for! Best I've ever had - definitely our go-to cocktail place now. Plus the food is great and the atmosphere is chill.
