Dulce Cielo in Monrovia is something special. This is my wife’s absolute favorite chai...and trust me, that means something. She drinks only chai and has sampled pretty much every chai in Monrovia and beyond. This is 'the one'
I walk a mile round trip every single day just to get it for her. That alone should tell you a lot.
So what makes Dulce Cielo different? Everything. Their chai isn’t some powdered mix scooped from a container and drowned in hot milk. It’s completely handmade by the owners themselves. This is a carefully tested work of art. The flavors are deliberate, balanced, and thoughtful. You can taste the care, time, and intention in every sip.
Beyond the chai, the creativity here is incredible. I’ve tried several of their other drinks and every one has been amazing...especially the horchata and coffee blend, which is next-level good. A friend of ours once mentioned a specific chocolate she loved, and the owners literally went out and sourced it just for her. That’s the kind of place this is.
And don’t even get me started on the cupcakes and pastries. Inventive, beautiful, and mind-blowingly creative. Nothing feels mass-produced. Everything feels loved.

Dulce Cielo is one of very few coffee shops where you can get a ceramic mug to enjoy your coffee. Veronica is always kind and willing to make drinks to your taste as well as chat a little when she has a moment. It’s such a great addition to this quiet part of Monrovia.
Great place! Friendly service and delicious deserts and coffee. I first came and tried their banana cookie, which was so good! I had to come back and try the coffee and I wasn’t disappointed. Definitely come support and check this small business out.
